"it's just a vibe, you know? a state of mind," he shrugs with a slight laugh, reaching for a bundle of keys hanging along the wall as they approach the door, "you okay with me driving?"

"oh yeah?" he raises an eyebrow, a bit out of practice and unsure of exactly how to gauge the girl in front of him, "–and what else are you seeing?"

" – like what you see?" he grins.

he snorts, "well, they were a little limited on options," massive white wings stretch outward as he shows them off, "i think if they had started calling me dove instead, scott would never have let me hear the end of it. pixie's cool as hell though, kinda punk rock."

"just kind of a lot going on, you know? what's that thing -– burning the candle at both ends? i think my candle's just a puddle of wax at this point," he lets out a laugh, short, stilted, posture still moderately tense, but laurie's overall demeanor helps shift the mood of the conversation.

"good for you," warren shrugs, wings shifting with the movement, "still don't know what you want me to do about the whole existing thing. sorry, but my time machine's in the shop."

he pauses, wings drooping as his shoulders slump, but he gives laura a polite smile anyway, "i mean, you of all people can relate when i say having another you around, living a slightly different life – arguably pretty goddamn weird."

“let’s be honest, what we’re you expecting to happen?” a shrug, as he takes a seat on a nearby stool, “i don’t know how thrilled they’d be if we had more of a disagreement in here.”

“hey, hey, hey! it’s okay—” his hands move to rest gently on her shoulders, “you’re doing great, okay? nothing to stress about, absolutely nothing.”

his wings are already bound against his back, but he grabs an oversized sweatshirt and slings it over his head as they move toward the door. spending quality time with jean, alriiight. good idea? bad idea? good idea. “i know a pretty decent chinese place not too far from here — you seem like a crab rangoon girl, am i wrong?
