I've gone. Not one for goodbyes, I thought it best to slip out quietly. Love to you all, Giles.

interesting that in survival the doctor saw the master turning into a cat and literally the next scene he’s warning ace about the cheetah people that “they can be dangerously attractive”. #noticing

“MY HELICOPTER—“
Iconic Brig scene 😆
I love how the way he says all this implies that the Doctor, Jo, Yates, and Benton have done this disappearing act together before.

2014 Vienna Philharmonic New Year's Concert with Daniel Barenboim — Johann Strauss I, Radetzky March, Op. 228
@tojibignaturals
I love that, like. He KNOWS the audience want to clap and so he's using them as an extra instrument. He turns around and goes hey, stop, and hopes they understand conductor gestures and it works, and then he has clapping he can use when he wants
I would be telling EVERYONE that for one night, I played percussion with the Vienna Philharmonic
Okay, I‘m not sure if someone already mentioned this in the reblogs but this is absolutely expected and the done thing at the New Year‘s Concert:
The Radetzky March is always the last encore of the concert, people always clap and the conductor always conducts the audience!
The style varies with the conductor (if you‘ve got time, please check out the 2026 version with Yannick Nézet-Séguin) but Barenboim is one of the most joyful whenever he did it, in my opinion.
Incidentally, the New Years Concert is one of the biggest TV events in Austria, being broadcast every year and something you absolutely watch hungover with your family!
So yes! Most Austrians, especially those at the concert absolutely understand what the conductor‘s doing because a lot of us grew up with it :)

i think the reason why the assassination of Julius Caesar is one of the funniest political assassinations is for this very simple reason:
1 guy stabs 1 guy: not funny. that's murder.
2 guys stab 1 guy: even less funny. that's two against one.
60 guys stab 1 guy: uproariously funny. why do you need so many guys.
60 guys only manage to stab the 1 guy 23 times: I can't fucking breathe I'm laughing too hard, you suck at this
Rest in peace ❌ Rest in pieces ✅
I like the implication that Caesar gets re-murdered each time
