Indulge in the timeless delight of classic glazed donuts. These fluffy, sweet treats are perfect for breakfast or as a tasty snack. The glaze adds a perfect touch of sweetness.
Ingredients: 2 cups all-purpose flour. 1/2 cup granulated sugar. 2 tsp baking powder. 1/2 tsp salt. 1/2 cup milk. 2 large eggs. 2 tbsp unsalted butter, melted. 1 tsp vanilla extract. Oil for frying e.g., vegetable or canola oil. 1 cup powdered sugar. 1/4 cup hot water. 1/2 tsp vanilla extract.
Instructions: In a mixing bowl, combine flour, sugar, baking powder, and salt. In another bowl, whisk together milk, eggs, melted butter, and vanilla extract. Pour the wet ingredients into the dry mixture and stir until a dough forms. Turn the dough onto a floured surface and roll it out to 1/2-inch thickness. Using a donut cutter or a round cookie cutter, cut out donut shapes. Make a hole in the center of each donut using a smaller cutter. Heat oil in a deep fryer or large pot to 350F 175C. Carefully place donuts in the hot oil and fry for about 2-3 minutes per side, or until they are golden brown and cooked through. Remove donuts with a slotted spoon and place them on a paper towel-lined plate to drain excess oil. In a separate bowl, whisk together powdered sugar, hot water, and vanilla extract to make the glaze. Dip each donut into the glaze, ensuring it's well-coated, and place it on a wire rack to set.
