For a hearty meal, Nana's Hamburger Gravy is a classic that will make you feel good. You can eat this rich and flavorful gravy with biscuits, mashed potatoes, or even pasta.
Ingredients: 1 lb ground beef. 1/2 onion, finely chopped. 2 cloves garlic, minced. 2 cups beef broth. 1/2 cup milk. 2 tablespoons all-purpose flour. 1/2 teaspoon salt. 1/4 teaspoon black pepper. 1/4 teaspoon paprika. 1/4 teaspoon dried thyme. 1/4 teaspoon Worcestershire sauce.
Instructions: In a skillet, brown the ground beef over medium-high heat, breaking it apart with a spatula as it cooks. Add the chopped onion and minced garlic to the skillet and cook until the onion is soft and translucent. Sprinkle the flour over the meat mixture and stir well to combine. Cook for 1-2 minutes to remove the raw flour taste. Gradually add the beef broth and milk while stirring constantly to avoid lumps. Continue to cook and stir until the mixture thickens and comes to a simmer. Reduce heat to low and add the salt, black pepper, paprika, dried thyme, and Worcestershire sauce. Stir to combine. Simmer the gravy for 5-10 minutes, stirring occasionally, until it reaches your desired thickness. Serve the hamburger gravy hot over biscuits, mashed potatoes, or your favorite side dish.
