Can we get a bat beast Tim š„ŗš„ŗš„ŗ
Tim doesn't get turned into a bat beast. He's living in a horse girl movie while everyone else is a horror/tragedy.
Bruce doesnāt know when violence stops being violence to him.
When heās 4 years old, he pushes Oliver Queen off the swings, because it was his turn, and if talking wouldnāt work, this would.
Martha holds his face , gently, when he has to write an apology letter.
āIf you want to participate in cruelty, you canāt cry when you become a victim of it.ā
He also punched Sophia Falcone for calling Selina an ugly word, and his small fists ache after, but it doesnāt feel wrong.
His mama grins, small but proud, and Alfred makes his favorite tea, and Thomas tells ānice shot, babeā while gently wrapping up his bleeding knuckles.
He remembers Oswald Cobblepot coming over, seeing him, and handing him ten bucks while cackling.
Gotham teaches him young.
They were out, ā Thomas never lets Alfred leave home without him, not even for trivial little things like grocery shopping. And where his father goes, Bruce goes, tied to his hip like an extra limb.
Thereās a man, ā and heās holding his wife by the hair. Bruce knows because he can see their rings glowing in the grey sunshine. Theyāre like Alfieās rings.
She has bruises on her face, and her neck, and heās scared for her. Thomas gently puts him down, and Bruce asks if heāll call Mr. Policeman Gordon.
And Thomas unlocks his wristwatch, slides it over to his knuckles.
āThis is how Waynes do things.ā
Alfred tries to take Bruce awayand Uncle Oz stops him. When he watches Thomas punches and stomps on that manās face until his legs stop twitching, he understands.
As Batman, Penguin hands him a 10 dollar bill, still wet with blood, when Bruce takes him to Arkham.
āYour daddy didnāt need a mask. ā
Ooooohh, this is very interesting. Having Oswald be connected to Bruce and the Waynes is a nice touch.
Also, can you imagine the kids finding out about this? Bruce, in full Batman get-up, stares down Penguin and casually says āHey, Uncle Ozā.
Oh so theyāre BOTH cuntsā
God, but can you imagine. In this context, Oz was so sure he wouldāve gotten custody of Bruce. He was Thomasā best friend, more than brother. Only to find out Alfred had to take that role because no one from his family wanted to?
āDid you want me?ā
āNo,ā itās easy and bitter and too painful to say. And Oz says it anyway. āI wanted to fight for you, thought.ā
āI wouldnāt be like this if you had me.ā
āNo. You wouldāve been worse.ā
Leaving the Suit Behind? You Are Invited to Fill Out the Robin Exit Interview
OPEN
@stealingyourbones you need to look at this it's so fucking good
Somehow Dick manages to actually lock Tim up in Arkham after Bruce ādies,ā and it results in the longest period of no breakouts in Gotham history.
Donāt misunderstand. Timās not like standing at this revolving door of a prison entrance intimidating people into staying. Heās just being heās weird self. Heās not Robin anymore after all, Damian took that mantle, but heās still Timothy Drake and if you think this little twink of a boy with too much Information on everyone and to many random ass skill sets is not the most entertaining thing to show up in those halls then you are wrong.
Dude walks in with a suitcase half his size and wearing a pair of shades that cost more than the building housing him. He has a cell to himself thatās??? Fully furnished what the fuck? How did he get a laptop in here?
Someone approaches him in the canteen thinking they could extort or threaten him and Tim reflexively flips and pins them to the ground. He then sits in the guy and starts telling his captive audience about a cold case from 87 that heās absolutely positive would be solved already if the police were competent in collecting evidence but also holy shit the uncle was so obviously guilty I canāt believe he somehow managed to get away with it.
Tim and Dent regularly hold mock trials. Theyāre not serious. Someone from the audience usually comes up with some random scenario and the two argue over it and site sources they have memorized and they go back and forth until thereās a vote by a preselected Jury.
Somehow Tim and Riddler started a āPun-off.ā That roped in likeā¦.half of the inmates. They had to cool it after someone got stabbed for a particularly bad pun though.
PowerPoint nights were implemented and the therapist thought it was a great idea because it allowed the patience an outlet for their obsessions. Most showed up because Tim was a bottomless well of cold case information and obscure conspiracy theories. This man has shown up every night with a new PowerPoint to present. No one talks about the number of note takers when he was presenting the PowerPoint on cloning.
People start showing up to group therapy on the off chance theyāre in a group with Tim because there is something entertaining about listening to him dramatically wax poetic about how if heād āever felt the true touch of his motherās love then he likely wouldnāt have spiraled down mentally when all his closest friends died so close together.
Once, Tim wanted Alaskan Crab so he ordered it and had enough shipped in for all the inmates and the staff. Hired a private chef to come in and cook it all too.
Meanwhile, in one on one therapy, Tim kinda just laughs with his appointed therapists about everything thatās going on. Talking about his friends does help, and playing up his intelligent eccentric billionaire is cathartic in a way Timās never really expected. āHow sad is it that Iāve had more fun around these people than I have with my own family?ā He asked one day.
Dick shows up one day to check on his baby brother because all he hears from Arkham is āTimās doing great!ā Also heās trying to check up on why there havenāt been any breakouts recently. When heās brought to Timās cell heās super confused. Again, this is a fully furnished Cell and Timās āsmuggledā in a super computer essentially and what looked like a very expensive bed. Thereās a shelf of books and a number of other electronics and oh? Are those WI financial records? Is Tim still running the company out of Arkham?
Anyway, Dick is checking in and Tim beams at him. āDude, you basically sent me on Sabbatical! No fighting, no Damian or Jason! I donāt have to submit patrol reports. Iām not always bruised up from fights. No Damian or Jason! And when my fellow inmates arenāt being psychotic theyāre entertaining as shit! Iām having more fun here than I have had in the last decade.ā
And Dick doesnāt really know how to handle this, especially when Tim slips him a tablet and says. āBy the way, I called in a favor with Slade (or other mercenary of your choice) since that Bitch owes me for that one stunt in the Caribbean, and had him check out some locations I thought Bruce might have left clues. Turns out I was right. Our cruddy father was in fact not dead and lost in the Time Stream. This tablet has everything you need to bring him back assuming you donāt think Iām still losing my sanity, which by the way, Iāve seen future selves where my sanity was lost and you better pray that never happens. Apparently the world burns. Killed that version of me already though, itās somewhere in the YJ archives along with Gun Batman, Joker Batman, and Demon Head Tim. That last one is still possible though.ā
āThereās at least two ninjaās here who have been tasked with keeping an eye on me on Raās behest. Wouldnāt put it past that man to abduct and try to brainwash me, but also if he tried Dent and Riddle would team up and systematically tear his organization a part to get me back. Apparently Iāve brought in enough intellectual stimulation and ļæ¼ entertainment that if anything happened to me they would ākill everyone involved and then Themselves.ā Their words not mine. I mean, I havenāt seen hide more tail of the Joker and wouldnāt be surprised if someone shot him dead in his cell to keep him from ruining our fun.ā It was Tim actually. Figured heād give patricide a go since all of his father/father figures keep dying. Figured heād let Joker Junior complete the set.
āAnyway. Go save Bruce. Whenās heās back, tel him to come pick me up. Ask him if heās proud that Iām following in his footsteps. Oooh tell him they stuck me in his old room I bet heād love that!ā
Dick end up leaving wondering if he somehow made a problem worse.
A month later Bruce shows up in a suit. Tim is drinking something out of a pineapple, sitting around a table with Dent, Nigma, and Harley playing a game of poker. Tim looks up, smiles, and asks if he wants to be delt in. Bruce sighs heavily but pulls up a chai, nods at the the otherās at the table and lets his son deal him into the game.
Somehow, Bruce is still surprised every time he learns that Tim is the most like him out of all his children.
THIS IS THE MOST BEAUTIFUL THING I'VE SEEN TODAY

Dick puts everything on the line. He's the last one standing. The rest of the Titans are down. He dies making sure that they, and the world, can live.
Then he wakes up, staring at a ceiling dotted with glow in the dark stars, very confused.
There's a redheaded teenager who calls herself Jazz, who seems suspicious of him. He had parents, ghost hunters who are definitely breaking many, many laws, who love him dearly.
He has a pair of very close friends, Tucker and Sam, who also do not trust him.
There was a funeral for Dick Grayson, he looked it up. There was a corpse and everything, cremated exactly as he had demanded after learning what had happened to Jason.
Just in case it's a fluke, and he's about to be thrown out of a body that isn't his, he doesn't reach out to anyone in the hero community just yet. Instead, he decides to look into who, exactly, is Daniel Fenton, and why do his friends and sister keep looking at him like he's a spy?
Or; Danny, growing more and more powerful as a halfa, was starting to have his ghostlyness leak through to his human form. He asked Clockwork if there was a future where Jack and Maddie would ever accept him being half ghost, and Clockwork informed him that no, there was not. So Danny worked with the Yetis in the Far Frozen to make a lifeless clone of himself, with the intent to fake his death and live on in the Realms. So when Jazz came into his room, fully expecting a lifeless clone, only to find the clone not only alive but fully functional, she's suspicious.
Consider: Danny can feel his clone gain life.
He canāt leave because heās chose to fully left his life behind and is too far away to go back now.
Still. He panics.
ā
Jazz isnāt having a good time. She was ready to scream and sob, alerting her parents to her ādeadā brother, only to stare at a very alive Danny sitting up on his bed looking at every single item in the room in a near tactical fashion.
Jazz storms into the room and grabs Dannyās shoulder and pulls him close. āWhat are you doing Danny? You were supposed to be dead, not leave a duplicate.ā
First sign it wasnāt Danny was his eyes. They were a darker blue than his original but some dissimilarities are common in Cloning.
Second sign was Dannyās voice. His cadence was wrong. āIām sorry- I forgot today was the date?ā
There was a small twitch from Dannyās left eye. Whoever this was, they unknowingly picked up some of Dannyās quirks. One of them being the cues that heās lying.
Jazz grabbed both shoulders of Danny, looking all over him, her eyes squinting in suspicion. His stance is off, his fidgeting is wrong, his eyes too jaded. This isnāt Danny.
āCut the shit. Are you a lost soul? A ghost? What are you doing in my little brothersā getaway body. This really isnāt the time we need this clone for a fake death. You need to leave. Now.ā
Danny looks more and more concerned (not worried?) with each word Jazz throws at him. āYouāre faking his death? Why?ā
Jazz hisses her words through gritted teeth. āSo he doesnāt get killed. I donāt have time for this. Leave his body youāre ruining the plan.ā She near throws Danny on his bed as she pushed away from him and started pacing his room.
The stolen husk of her brother was tracking her pacing with his just off eyes for a few moments and takes a deep breath.
āOkay. Got it.ā
It was unnerving. Seeing her brother walk to his window with a completely different gate and posture made her hindbrain scream uncanny valley.
āYou said something about lost souls.ā her brotherās eyes tore away from the city below and stared at her with a grim understanding, āThe last thing I remember was dying.ā
Jazz breath was shaky, her pacing now stopped and absorbed the new information. This was bad. Very bad. āFuck. Ok change of plans. Introductions. Then we escape. Then an explination.ā
Jazzās smile didnāt reach her eyes but she didnāt care. This soul was now a VERY big obstacle in the plan she and Danny tediously planned for weeks. āJazz Fenton.ā
Dannyās smile didnāt reach his eyes either. āDick Grayson.ā
This five seconds clip is one of the funniest things in all of the DC universe.
Things I love about this:
1. The fastest man alive didn't think there was a man crime fighting in a bat suit.
2. Barry thought rumors of a man in a bat suit were too good to be true to the point where the news that he exists makes him physically react.
3. Green Lantern is over it all after the first sentence.
4. Hal is so apathetic.
5. Bruce does not even attempt to look over when hearing Barry. He just tinkers more.
6. Wait wha-
And of course:
Eh, he's over there. š
A fanfic idea:
Bruce was able to rescue Jason before he died, and after this experience, Jason stopped being Robin.
He became afterwards the golden child, he goes to college (with a scholarship), helps out in the city library, teaches children (helps with their homeworks and helps them to study), works part time in a car garage in crime alley, and is a supportive brother.
And it pisses his siblings off.
Because there has to be something fishy because no one, really no one, is that perfect.
And there is something fishy.
He is also Red Hood.
No one knows, and the vigilantes never talk to Jason about "the family business" because he needs to concentrate on his studies and other stuff.
So imagine, Batmans suprise when the JL was able to catch Red Hood.
Someone takes Jasons helmet off in front of Batman, Nightwing, and other members
And Jason, who wears also a domino mask, doesn't look Batman in the face even as he says :
"Hey Dad. I can explain."
And Dick loses his shit, he laughs so hard because, Jason, The golden child, the one who gave up on being a vigilante, who reads to children in the library, is a goddamn crimelord.
Bruce just stands there frozen because wtf Jason?!
And Dick takes selfies with Jason being tied up and calles the other Batkids in because they should definitely not be left out of it.
(Edit: As someone who doesn't really write (or can write good stories), I want to say, feel free to use this prompt for a fanfiction. Just please give credits to me (because I don't know if someone else had also this idea and posted it) and please inform me if you publish something (because I want to read a fanfiction like this too))
Keeping Up With The Wayneās but bc Jason literally cannot be there, they have like a little memorial shrine and when asked about Jason, Bruce is like,
āoh my son, my wonderful wonderful dead son, he was an angel a perfect boy the best possible child ever.ā
Tim just makes snide ass comments like āWell he wasnāt that great, he was actually an asshole who would always drink the last of the coffee and not make another pot like your suppos-ā and Bruce would interrupt like āhahahaha timmy here never got to meet Jason.ā before gently covering Tims ears and fake whispering to the camera āHeās always been a bit jealousā
in revenge, Tim put the batman cowl in Bruceās bedroom before he gave a tour and Bruce had to say it was Sex Thing.
The only thing you need to know about Tim becoming Robin is that he's the protagonist of a horse girl movie and Batman is the horse.

Thinkin about a DCxDP where Dannyās helping ghosts find peace while heās laying low in Gotham.
Like, he moved away from Amity for whatever reason. Maybe the reveal went badly, maybe he just couldnāt stand staying any longer. For whatever reason, heās in Gotham, because the rent is cheap and heās nowhere near the strangest thing there so no one looks at him twice.
However, this city is cursed. Like, cursed beyond cursed. Itās actively alive with how many curses there are, and the ghosts there are extremely unhappy about it.
(Of course, thatās not a problem for Danny. His ghost side filters out the toxic smog and the chemicals in the water, and his human side gives a resistance to the rank ecto and the hexes that are actively trying to devour him.)
He doesnāt really want to do anything about it, to be honest.
Heās sick of playing hero, considering how it went last time, and heās busy working at Waffle House or Walmart or whatever other store doesnāt bother doing a background check (in Gotham, thatās probably all of them), and maybe trying to find a way to get highschool credits that donāt immediately disqualify him from every college in existence.
Still, the ghosts know he can hear them. They know, and they keep coming for help.
So, hey, why not? He definitely canāt put this as experience in any sort of job application, but he really doesnāt have much else to do.
So, he becomes errand boy for a bunch of ghosts.
Sometimes heās finding objects that are important to them, sometimes heās giving evidence they collected together of their murders to the police, sometimes heās getting them the last meal they never had, sometimes heās just spending time with them like theyāre not dead.
The ghosts donāt always move on, but theyāre always more at peace. Occasionally they pay him back in charms and blessings and the locations of valuables that he can keep or pawn for cash.
Eventually, a new ghost shows up.
She looks like a shadow, like all the ghosts of Gotham, but she seems stronger than usual. She asks him for a favor that those who came before him were never able to fulfill.
She asks him to find her engagement ring, and give it to her son.
Easy enough, he thinks. Itās a bit of a pain to buy the ring from the seedy pawn shop itās in (he would usually just steal it, but he doesnāt want to implicate her kid in anything, which she seems grateful for), but everythingās going mostly alright.
Then, she tells him who her son is, and wow, no wonder no oneās helped her yet.
Heās Red Hood. The guy who is(/was) the crime lord in charge of crime alley. The title sounds a bit stupid to Danny, but heās still a genuine threat to a living person.
Good thing heās not one of those.
And so, the next time he sees Red Hood out and about, he goes right up to him. The man seems mostly unbothered, but Danny does notice how his hand slightly drifts towards one of his many weapons.
He tells Red Hood outright that heās there on behalf of the manās mother, then just holds out his hand with the ring inside, dropping it into Red Hoodās open palm.
Then he leaves, not waiting for a response.
ā
Jason has a mystery on his hands, and he might just cash in some favors from Babs and Tim to figure it out.
Heās got to find the guy who gave him his motherās ring, and find out everything he knows.
The way that Iām brainrotting over a DCxDP crossover with a Danny whoās a vengeful villain rn
Like, letās just say that the GiW finally get into contact with the JL. They need help neutralizing a threat, you see, and theyāre on their last limb trying to keep civilians safe.
They have video evidence! They have studies to back their claims! The JL have to help them!
Unfortunately, the JL believe them. They join a fight against Danny, and defeat him due to being far more experienced than he is. Danny is locked away and experimented on by the GiW.
That would CHANGE a person. Your heroes turning against you and seeing you as a monster, being experimented on for who knows how long, not knowing if your friends and family are safe.
Danny gets out due to a simple mistake on the GiWās part; having Blüdhaven as part of their transport route.
Of course the trucks were attacked, theyāre government property!
So now, whoever decided to raid the government transport trucks (the Penguin or something) has a ton of experimental weapons with no idea how they work, and a heavily traumatized teenager.
Danny knows how they work. Danny can be useful! They wonāt throw him out if heās useful! And so, now Danny is working for the Penguin, altering the ectoplasm weapons to make them work on humans.
Itās a good deal for both parties. Danny gets to neurotically imprint on the Penguin like a small baby animal, and the Penguin gets a brilliant mind who will stop at nothing to achieve his goals.
But eventually, Danny finds out what happened to his family in his absence.
Jazz is in Arkham. Not as a psychologist, but as a āpatient.ā Apparently, she snapped and completely destroyed the house, leveled a few blocks of Amity Park, and conducted organized attacks on government bases (mostly GiW) for months.
Sam and Tucker helped her, eventually splitting once Jazz was captured. Sam travels to areas of extreme pollution, completely overgrowing them with her plant powers. Currently sheās in the Amazon rainforest, engaging in an ongoing feud with logging companies. Sam is winning.
Tucker faked his death, and Danny has no idea where he is. He only knows that the death wasnāt real because of a code that the three of them made together, just in case.
Ellieās trapped in the Infinite Realms. Danny had a failsafe in place so that if she was ever cornered by the GiW, she would be sent to her haunt in the GZ. However, with the portal destroyed, she canāt come back. Danny just hopes sheās okay.
His parents are now top GiW scientists. Theyāre traveling the country giving speeches. Theyāre working on a battery powered by ectoplasm, but apparently started āhaving difficultiesā around the same time that Danny escaped.
None of it is fair. None of it is right.
The Justice League destroyed his life, the lives of his friends, and theyāre doing as good as ever. The GiW is respected, and his parents are happily working away for them.
Danny takes up some of his more experimental weapons and breaks Jazz out of Arkham. Sheās a little different now, colder and more quiet, but she still loves him all the same. Itās an unimaginable comfort to him to see his sister again.
He canāt use his powers anymore. Heās so used to associating them with pain that even transforming into his ghost form is enough to take him down for hours.
However, he understands ectoplasm more than anyone else in the world. He knows how to use it in virtually everything; how it can become a weapon, how it can be used as a supplemental ingredient in poisons and nerve agents, how it can twist and distort the mind if applied correctly.
He doesnāt care what happens to him. Heās going to take down the GiW, and destroy the lives of the JL members who helped lock him away, just as they did to him.
No matter the cost.
How could you spread this to other people? This brilliant brain rot has now taken over down town!
But seriously this is a fantastic idea. I really do love any fic that has Danny as a threat to the Justice League without his powers, and this is probably the best concept out of all of them. Danny doesnāt need to become Dan to ruin lives! Danny Fenton (actually he really canāt even use his last name anymore without breaking down) Nightingale is a menace.
Cannot wait for the sea of anti heroes, actual vigilantes (Batman as soon as you joined the League as a founder you were out babe), and friendly rouges to find out what happened. The you fucked up moment will be glorious, because they really canāt do anything to fix it. They have irrevocably destroyed this superhero childās life to the point where they canāt go home or even use their powers. They can take down the GIW but even that wonāt solve much.
Super curious if this has any set penultimate act. Like what causes the heroes to realize they fucked up. Is it a Batman researches (more then he did with the GIW) and actually finds the truth this time? Or is it a someone from the Infinite Realms or a magical ally hits them upside the head to tell them they fucked up?
Quite frankly, they find out because Danny likes to talk to them.
He and Jazz worked for months to find out everything they could about the bats, why wouldnāt he brag?
Heās only ever targeted Bruce, but that doesnāt mean heās not getting into the othersā heads.
Danny goes after things important to Bruce. Buildings, places, people. He doesnāt kill, though; it would be too boring. Neurotoxins, poisons, mind-altering serums, those are his weapons of choice. Heās letting Bruce know that nothing and no one is safe, that he knows his true identity, and itās getting to him.
Everything comes to a head when he captures Red Robin, along with the Joker.
The Bat has a choice; shoot the Joker with the gun that Danny provided, or watch his son die.
The Bat calls bullshit. Danny hasnāt killed before, and none of his inventions are lethal.
Danny shoots a henchman to prove his point. He tells Bruce, voice flat with boredom as his other henchmen drag the firstās body out of the room, that he has 30 seconds to pick what heāll do.
Danny, with a headset he connected to the Batās comm line, listens to what theyāre saying to Bruce.
Dick is begging him not to go through with it, that he doesnāt have to, that he can stop and theyāll fix things.
Jason is damn near screaming at Bruce, telling him that if he doesnāt shoot that clown heāll come down and kill them both.
Steph is frantic; itās impossible to understand what sheās saying, but it seems that sheās trying to comfort Tim.
Babs and Cass are still trying in vain to find wherever Danny and the others are, hoping that they can save Tim before itās too late.
Damian says nothing. He doesnāt know what to say, what to do. He canāt think of anything. Heās scared.
Time runs out, and Danny shoots Tim. He takes off the headset, ignoring the screaming coming from the speakers.
Once he and his henchmen have left, he gives Tim the antidote to his paralytic.
He apologizes, a far away look on his face, stating that he really didnāt think that Bruce would pick the Joker over his son. Heāll only hold him for a few days, he says, just enough for the emotional fallout to take hold.
Tim tells Danny to go to hell. Heās crying, he realizes, and he doesnāt know why. Of course Bruce wouldnāt kill the Joker. Tim already knew what would happen the second Danny presented the ultimatum.
Bruce finds Timās research notes, and realizes immediately who Danny really is. Tim wouldnāt, he knows, he wasnāt there. The files on that case were stored physically due to a problem with the JL database at the time, and Barry was supposed to upload it later but heās Barry, of course he forgot, and how could Bruce be so stupid?
Danny goes back to the containment cell heās keeping Tim in during dinner time. Heās brought him food, toiletries, and a change of clothes. He apologizes again, and Tim says nothing. His face is messy from crying. Danny tells him that no one will enter the area without Dannyās expressed permission, so he can take off his mask if heād like.
On the second day, they get to talking. Tim wants to know why Dannyās doing all of this, and Danny is willing to answer.
Tim is horrified by what he learns. Dannyās acting cheerful, but itās clear that the topic is as hard for him to talk about as it is for Tim to listen to.
He tries to convince Danny to stop, that theyāll get him help, the Justice League will do anything it takes to make things right.
Danny, to his credit, does consider listening.
He gives Tim to Red Hood after four days, and the family is once again thrown into turmoil.
Tim, however, couldnāt care less.
He needs to find Danny again. He needs to fix things before Danny goes too far, if he hasnāt already done so with this stunt. He knows that Danny isnāt truly evil, and that he can change.
It doesnāt matter that his siblings think heās lost his mind, thatās nothing new.
He just needs to figure out where to start.
I read this and my first thoughts were
Danny, casually standing over Timās dead body, gun still smoking: āWow. I didnāt think youād actually choose the Joker over your own son. Like, I know you have a lot of kids, but the Joker is literally just some guy.ā
*Nudging Timās head with the toe of his boot* āI wonder what your choice would have been if Iād gone for one of your other kids. Maybe the little one? Would that have made a difference? Or is it the bigger ones you care about? Obviously you donāt give a shit about this one.
*speaking to one of his henchmen* āDrag this one out to the trash with the other one. Iām done here.ā
I just love a dark and vindictive Danny, the product of their own making.
I vote this is like RIGHT after he escapes, so the GIW still need a new battery- I mean ecto entity.
And since they lost him in Bludhaven, and Red Hood the undead Crime Lord is right next door...
Jason gets his not-dead little brother back and is then kidnapped. By a government agency his father sponsored.
Tim is even more frantic to find Danny to help save Jason, everyone is realizing how badly they fucked up.
Danny absolutely would help once he realized the GiW was involved. In this AU heās strictly targeting the JL members who were involved in his capture; heās not willing to permanently maim or traumatize anyone who doesnāt ādeserveā it, including their kids/relatives.
So, heās not listening to Tim beg him to help and thinking about leaving Jason to rot just to get back at the Bat.
Heās thinking about another son that Bruce has failed, another halfa whoās been sent to the slaughterhouse by the Batās actions.
Heās seeing red.
So, Tim and Danny save Jason, and they do it in a matter of hours. The GiW have barely had enough time to begin slicing Jay open for the day when Danny and Tim roll up, laying siege on them with Dannyās bombs and weaponry.
Timās absolutely causing deaths but really, thatās the furthest thing from his mind. He doesnāt care. Those rules didnāt help Jason, they didnāt help Steph, and they sure as hell didnāt help him. Bruce can say whatever he wants when he finds out.
Then, when they encounter the two head scientists who ordered Jason captured, the most interesting thing happens.
Danny freezes.
Tim wants to ask whatās going on but he doesnāt have time; the two begin attacking as soon as they recognize Danny.
And so, Tim kills them. Itās easy, and he doesnāt feel a lick of regret. Shakily, Danny thanks him, and they rescue Jason.
Jasonā¦heāll live. Heās just been through some extremely traumatic stuff, and heās vulnerable. Despite that, though, heās strong. Heās gotten through worse.
Jason and Tim go with Danny to ensure that Jason gets the medical treatment that he needs. Theyāre not sure that heāll recover on his own with human methods, and itās clear that the Leagueās understanding of ghosts is painfully inaccurate.
Later, when Danny and Tim are alone, Danny breaks down for the first time in years.
He tells Tim who those scientists were, his parents, and how he never could have done what Tim did. He thanks him. He tells him that heās indebted to him, that heāll gladly do anything for Tim to repay the favor.
Heād turn himself in if Tim asks.
Tim, though, has a better idea.
And so, the two swear to one another that theyāll take down the GiW together, no matter what happens. Tim still has to make things right, and Danny still has to have his revenge.
Now, though, they have each otherās help.
Theyāll be unstoppable.
Oh the Outlaws are going to Lose Their SHIT? Like? Kori specifically. You take their Jason and have been doing WHAT!?
Where is this child?! Starfire hugs. We murder at dawn. The Tim Child can help.
Yes yes yes yes yes to all of this.
Tim has a slightly more practical understanding to situations and honestly I feel like when it's his back against the wall, and there are innocent lives at stake then he'd absolutely go full murdering feral. So with that in mind...
At the GiW break in? He did commit the murders. He just weighed them against the life of his brother. The brother who'd already been killed once before. And the potential future victims they would target.
Those scientists were spouting hateful rhetoric. Tim's heard enough of it to recognise it even if it's nonsensical to him. He also still had that protect the innocent instinct that he was convinced came embedded in the Robin Legacy. So he stepped forward and shot them. Then he kept moving.
Jason was.... well, he wasn't bad, but he wasn't good either. And being strapped down to a table after being locked into a small cell had drudged up some stuff for him. He'd tried hiding it behind bluster but Tim knew his family well. So he played up the worried little brother with slightly teary eyes and bitten lip as he looked away and Jason folded like a bad hand of cards.
Once Tim had Jason squared away in an off the grid safe house that no one other than he and now Jason and Danny knew of, he realised that maybe.....that break in had affected Danny more than he let on.
Danny typically either was an absolute joking goofball or he was an ice wall. So to see him standing in the small kitchenette, holding an empty glass and staring at the taps with a faraway look in his eyes.
When the conversation between them happened where Danny told his story, Tim realised a few things. Or rather he figured out something that had been eating at him for a while but he always buried.
Batman's shtick of not killing is necessary because of what he symbolises. But for the people who got caught in the crossfire it didn't always end well. There's a handful who decided that becoming a vigilante or a a villain but for the vast majority they got trauma - big ones, small ones, micro sized ones. All of them piled up. There were studies coming out on how the people living in Gotham were being affected adversely by those and how in turn it was being passed on to not just the younger generations but also the way of life in Gotham.
Sometimes, rogues that rose to the levels of the Joker, who didn't care about the harm they caused, needed a more permanent solution. And Arkham wasn't equipped with dealing with it. Jason had already been working on it for a while and Crime Alley had had a reduction in the types of crimes. Dick had tried working it from the opposite side with the corruption amongst the cops in Bludhaven and that had also sort of worked.
But Tim knew himself and he knew that his own line wasn't as clear cut as Dick's or Bruce's. He's also willing to consider how the changing times means that a more thorough understanding of situations were needed, and sometimes even heroes made mistakes. And in their position - the fallout of their mistakes was bigger.
So Tim and Danny start working together. And Jason when he recovers also joins their movement.
Here's another idea.
Jazz's psychological analysis helps amp up the amount of damage that Danny's attacks end up doing. Green Lantern, Green Arrow, and Flash get hit with a paralytic. Superman gets a virus. (technically it's some kind of neurotoxin but it was specifically designed so Superman got a super cold.) Martian manhunter was sent a letter. No one knows what the letter said but... he hasn't been seen since.
Danny had reached out to Dr. Pamela Isley to get a message to Sam in the Amazonian rainforest. And Tim left a coded message on Danny's behalf for Tucker. Jason reached out to Roy (who had retired from the lifestyle) and Koriand'r just so they knew he was okay.
Meanwhile Bruce is panicking because Tim was supposedly dead (but Barbara had found recent footage of him) and Jason had gone dark. No one had heard from him in a few days - including Jason's criminal lieutenants.
Bruce didnāt think anything could make him feel more broken then the day Jason died.
He was wrong.
On his screens a macabre scene played out.
His son. His Jason was strapped to a table.
The Drs. Fenton. The leading experts in their field. The only experts in their field weāre cutting into his son.
The people he had comforted when they told him what ghosts had done to their daughter, driving her insane and forcing them to put her away, where cutting open his son.
Jason cried out and told him he was human and the couldnāt do this. They just laughed and said he sounded like Phantom. They told him they didnāt fall for him pretending to be their son and they wouldnāt fall for this.
They told Jason he was a monster, he wasnāt human, he was an unfeeling thing that just mimicked humans to take advantage of them.
As Jasonās torture played on his screen files materialized next to the video. A missing persons report on Danny Fenton submitted by his sister Jazz Fenton. Police statements from Tucker Foley and Sam Manson. Jazz Fentons patient intake statements.
Document after document plastered his screen while Jason screamed in the background.
Danny Fenton was just 16 when his parents declared he had been replaced by the ghost known as Phantom. They began experimenting immediately.
His sister and best friends said Danny was Phantom and his parents experiments had given him powers. They told everyone who would listen that Phantom was still Danny and he was the same person he was before the accident.
They told everyone the Fentons were wrong. That they were bigots who wanted to destroy the ghosts not study them and if they were actually the experts they claimed to be they would know you canāt be non-sentient and inherently malicious at the same time.
The children had to be wrong.
The Fentons were experts in their field-
-No. The Fentons were the only scientists in their field. They were āexpertsā by default.
Anyone with any evidence that countered their views was obviously a ghost.
Anyone who spoke out against the Fentons in general was declared āecto-contaminatedā and shipped off to the GIW.
High schoolers. Teachers. Even the local weatherman of Amity Park had spoken out and been quickly shipped off to be ādecontaminatedā and never seen again.
All this flashed before Bruceās eyes to the tune of his sons screams.
What had they done.
What had he done.
I'm really imagining the Watchtower meeting room the next day. Like, everyone just sitting there. So different from how they normally are. The Flashes aren't talking, Wonder Woman is disheveled for once in her life, Batman is slumped and exhausted, and so on. All of them ashen-faced and defeated. AND THE REVEAL. Because Batman has figured it out, who Danny is and why he's doing this and all that. But I bet the others haven't. And imagine. They're all just sitting there, when Danny hacks into the watchtower (or Tucker does it and Danny's just the one talking), in full villain costume (by the way, what does his costume look like? Because I'm imagining some cool shit). Maybe he wants to gloat, show them exactly how badly they fucked up, show Batman how Jason and Tim are with him now, something. And THIS is how the other heroes learn. So Danny hacks in, and someone, probably a Flash, just interrupts. Asks him, defeatedly, who he is. Why he's doing this. And Danny just freezes. Chuckles a little. Because they don't remember, of course they don't. It was just another Tuesday for them. Just another day for them, when it ruined Danny's (after)life. His friend's and family's lives. They destroyed everything and they don't even remember. So Danny reminds them. Takes off his mask, and you can see the scars creeping up from his neck and scattered across his face (in my personal imagination I want to say that he doesn't have eyes anymore, that they got taken out, though that might be too gory. I just think it would be a cool way to emphasize what's been done to him). He smiles, and it's forlorn and broken and so, so angry.
"Three years, four months, and sixteen days ago you were asked by a government organization calling themselves the GIW to help take down a 'threat'. You didn't ask questions. You didn't investigate, or even do more than skim their 'research'. You simply fought a sixteen-year-old, who begged you, told you that he was trying to help people, that he was sentient and had thoughts and feelings and loved and dreamed. One who idolized you. You fought him, and he wasn't strong enough to beat you all. And then you turned him over. And left. And never looked again. You forgot, and while you were forgetting, he was tortured, cut open again and again in a stupid white lab for two years, ten months, and nineteen days before he figured his own way out. You left him. You forgot him...," his smile widened, and his voice took on a condescending and sympathetic tone, "Do you remember now? Do you remember yet, what you did? If not, that's okay. I can keep reminding you. That sixteen-year-old you left? He wasn't strong enough. But that's okay. Because I am. And I? Well. You get to see what I'll do."
Once, in a fit of anger, Tam had accused him of having a moral compass dictated by Batman and pinned to the refrigerator.
Superficial and easily discarded.
Tim had immediately shut her out, unable to voice his true thoughts.
He knew what the world considered right and wrong, yet it didn't change the way his own morals were misaligned.
That core of Tim Drake was not made of self-righteous justice, but a cold, ruthless desire to protect those he deemed his.
Now he stood next to his favorite brother at the right hand of the man who was swiftly becoming more than a friend, and stared down his former teammates.
They pleaded for him to return to their side and rejoin his family. So very insistent that he had been tricked or manipulated by the "villain" before them. This swiftly transitioned to accusations of treason or insanity when Red Robin appeared unmoved.
It was hardly the first time.
Jason fired a kryptonite bullet into Superboy's hip when the hot-headed hero tried to rush them. Tim's hands curled tighter around the venom laced blades hidden beneath his cloak before he lashed out too swift for even a speedster to dodge.
As Young Justice collapsed, incapacitated, at their feet, Danny made a slight hand signal to Tucker.
On every screen, in every language, all across the globe, was an improved version of the video that had been sent to Watchtower.
This time, the clips included the torture and deaths of all the civilians who had tried to withstand the GIW spliced with audio of the Justice League discussing Phantomās intitail capture that had been retrived during the Watchtower hack.
Tim watched his exfriends faces grow pale as they struggled to reconcile the dispassionate voices of their mentors with the suffering shown on the jumbotron behind them.
Clearly, the League had not seen fit to inform them as to why Team Phantom had embarked on their path of vengeance. He could see in their eyes the desire to rip off their emblems and foresake the League, and beg the brothers red for forgiveness.
Too little too late
So I have gotten into this before but I find it fascinating that with one word the Bats can have the Supers at their door.
Like think about it with one scream a racing heart the most powerful men in the world are running to you. They can catch bullets move at the speed of sound shoot lasers out of their eyes hear all around the world. Yet every second of the day they are listening and waiting for a call.
A call that they will drop everything for.
Kon will race to Gotham to catch Tim before he falls from a building.
Clark will grab Bruce out of the middle of a hostage situation.
Damian jumps into the air and Jon grabs him before he hits the ground.
The definition of you call I come.
I am a sucker for Tim shouting Kon and he's there with a bullet bouncing off his chest before the gun is even cool.
Tim who knows as long as Kon alive he's never alone he's never without backup there is always someone who will come. A kid who grew up chasing his heroes looking out for himself now never has to actually fight a battle alone because there will be a boy who will come flying his Superman who won't let him fall.
It's amazing
Alternate ending to Under the Red Hood where Bruce fucks up the ultimatum scene by virtue of the fact that he has never used a gun before. I can't decide if it's funnier if he decides to kill the Joker and shoots Jason in the arm instead or if he accidentally shoots the Joker and is just like. Better commit to the bit.
Scenario 1:
Bruce, literally refuses to touch a gun, suddenly holding a gun: oh no. I have to choose between my son and the joker, I cannot let Jason die again. I have to do it
*Shoots Jason*
Jason: WHAT THE FUCK OW-
Bruce: I DIDN'T MEAN TO-
Jason: I KNEW YOU HATED ME BUT DID YOU HAVE TO SHOOT ME ABOUT IT?
Bruce: I DIDN'T MEAN TO IT WAS AN ACCIDENT
Jason: ARE YOU KIDDING ME-
-
Scenario 2
Bruce, accidentally killing the Joker because he, on purpose, never learned how to handle a gun: oh shit-
Jason, eyes wide: you actually killed the joker for me? š„¹
Bruce:
Bruce, dying inside: y-yes. i killed someone with Gun. on purpose. yeah...

Redraw of a piece I posted a year ago! Comparison under the cut
Having been declared legally dead and without a cent to his name, Danny arrives in Gotham desperate for any job. So when he gets hired by a rich couple to babysit their kid while they're away (which apparently is quite often) without them even doing a background check on him, he thinks he's hit the jackpot.
Until he finds out just how neglected this kid is. Danny knows from personal experience just how that can mess a person up so he decides to shower this kid with all the love and attention he could ever dream of. And maybe figure out a way to stop him from sneaking out at night.
#double adoption bait #there's two now
Danny is acting as a live in nanny, which saves him so much money. Sure he has had to learn how to cook! But, Tim is a sweet kid. Only 8 and so so used to being on his own. no, Danny won't stand for it. Tim is his family now, and he will look after him. His first few pay checks were saved up till he could buy a decent fake ID, paper trail and all. Look, Gotham is shady a fuck. Danny made himself a distant cousin of the Drakes. Was pretty easy. Of course he is looking after Tim.
Tim was very wary of him at first. It didn't help that Danny caught him sneaking out at night. Look, if he won't look after himself Danny will make him. Danny did out his foot down. Tim is not allowed out on school nights. And he has to pass a basic amount of dodging and stealth training to be allowed out for more than 2 hours.
Tim was not happy, but as Danny pointed out he was there to look out for him. And dammit he would! Tim took to his training scarily well. Kid was so damn smart. Danny still wasn't letting him out on his own though!
So, here they were, the two of them following Robin 2 who he been running off on his own more often lately. Oh well, it let Tim get some great photos. Danny was pretty damn sure Th would come back as a ghost. Boy was obsessive enough.
