mini holiday over what im even doing with my life

beef stir-fried with veggie and potato: 7/10 hmmmmmm a nice start

flounder sashimi: 8/10 never got this before and it didnt disappoint. cant beat salmon and scallop and tuna and others in my mind tho

grilled snail with fried scallion: 8/10, i dont know we can use fried scallion with this it so fun

fried soft-shell sentiel crab: 9/10m ny pick and it perfect, not too thich fried dough, dipping sauce and even the pickled salad to cleanse the palatte

raw oyster: 6/10 with tobacco sauce...not for me

grilled pork jowl: 9.5/10 it sooooo crunchy and flavorful and smoky

boiled squid: 7/10 they order when we already full else this could rank higher the squid is fresh from the tank lmao

breakfast on friday is just sooooooo doing anything:

fried rice, grilled rib also some siu mai: 7/10, the rice is me, the rib is sooooooooo thick and hard to bite, the siu mai is okay ig

rice dumpling cake: 6/10 need to be softer and more shrimp

soup: 8/10, funny story they got a station for topping reserved for the main water dish on the breakfast so i took these beef paste ball, fish ball, crab leg and ask them to like pouch it for me kinda and then put chicken soup on top with fried scallion. im a genius

egg benedict: the egg, ham and the crust under is fine, wonder why tf their hollandaise is SO sour 5.5/10

cinnamon sugar donut, brownie, chocolate pastry and almond: 7.5/10, the brownie kinda so moist? the other is okay with nutella

ice cream: 9/10, softtttttttt and sooo cacao it so good

literally go out with the intetnion of traveling the city but just end up going around (even out of it on highway) and then go back. stare at the beach some more then channeling my inner blair wardorf by eating macaron in hot bathtub

gotta try out the iconic baked rolls and we order in, forgot to note so there literally like no plate or chopsticks. still insanely good tho 8.5/10

then got some black tea milktea 8/10

and cuz everything so far been a snack so i got some more instant noodle 8/10

outfit for last day, it a crazy fit to sit on car until like 10pm but in my defense i thought we sleeping at another city for another night

breakfast plate, the kimchi so sour, the noodle is kinda dry, the fried fish is okayy. overall in sum and average this got a 6

more sight on the road

stop and got a blended chocolate oreo. 9/10 my dog favorite fake words on a phone call

stop again for some snack, vietnamese pancake with seafood and căn cake, also some grilled snail. the pancake got the crunchy egg and goes so well with the fish sauce dipping. also the grilled snail is good esepcailly the one with the scallion and peanut. hmmmmm 8/10

finally got home and so hungry i gotta go eat seafood jjiambong noodle. it so hearty and spicy and all the seafood ugh 100/10

instant spicy phở, air fry salmon, stir fried eggplant with minced pork. 8.5/10 i love making stuff up

     Sometimes he stopped to show them an artistic statue or a beautiful painting, but it seemed that Tatiana did not care about them. What was her deal? She could at least pretend that she enjoyed them as much as Magnus did; they wanted to come to some agreement, did they not? Maybe he could persuade her to make the rest of the Vintage Murder Syndicate – as he called them – more inclined to some of his agenda, or she could convince him about something she wanted to push through the long legislative process.

     However, the lunch was anything but pleasant. The young lady next to her barely spoke, lowering her gaze, and Tatiana complained about everything. When they finished lunch, and they finally brought the promised wine, Magnus drank his first glass maybe too quickly.

I think you are right about fantasy stakes. When I think of romance, at least in a Shadowhunter context, I think high stakes, high emotions, massive consequences and, usually, the absence of the luxury of time. Also, usually Magnus walks in on you at some point or another.

I do think of TWP as very romantic books. Part of focusing in so closely on the main four characters is to give those romances space and time. It allows for Kit and Ty to be on a desperate chase across Europe but occasionally have time for squabbling over whether licorice is disgusting (yes, yes it is) or you, know being terrified about the other person's safety (which I find romantic, though not domestic.)

If the question is just whether Kit and Ty ever do anything romantic, I do not know what terrible person would promise a romance between two characters and then never let them do anything romantic. Kit and Ty must reconnect after a bad split, but that in itself is a romantic process. Also, they are quite a bit older than they were in TDA so "I don't know, do I maybe want to kiss this person?" is more like "I desperately do want to kiss this person, but maybe they do not return the feeling."
