BUTTERS TRIED IT AGAIN 😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂
This is in reference to you trying to get me to write ANOTHER mundane!Malec story, before I managed to make it canon!Malec yes.😂
His instincts register something's wrong before his mind's even awake. Something off. Unknown. The bed--couch?-- he's lying on is too spacious to be his. Too large. His shoulders have too much space on either side and his heels aren't digging in the thin wooden frame of his bed.
Alec only remembers flashes of the night before--the amphisbaena nest, the tentacle that had caught his thigh and the venom that made his eyesight blur. He remembers green oil and black ichor staining his abdomen, remembers losing his grip on his stele and watching it tumble down into the gutter.
He doesn't remember making his way back home.
Alec recalls the injury being painful but harmless. An annoyance, a slightly debilitating one even, but nothing lethal. Nothing that should have prevented him from making his way back home. Not with his arrows and an active strength rune.
He doesn't understand why he isn't.
The bed--he's pretty sure the surface he's lying on is a bed--is too soft. Too comfortable. His blankets are too silky and too--
Alec blinks his eyes open. He tries to chase the sleep from his blurry eyesight, twisting his neck to get an uncomfortable crick out of his neck, only to be met with the sight of an unfamiliar room, and an even more unfamiliar cat.
He doesn't know where he is. However, the cat blinks up at him when their eyes meet, the soft buzzing Alec hadn't consciously registered growing louder, and draws his attention to the note hovering in the air beside them.
Warlock then. And a considerably strong one, given his leg doesn't twinge when he flexes it. Doesn't hurt or cramp when he moves it to assess the damage. There's also no lingering heat or nausea from the venom, and even the scratches on his palms and fingers have been healed.
He doesn't know why a warlock would bring him to their lair.
Alec wasn't injured enough to need or warrant warlock assistance. Was barely injured at all. He flexes the different muscles in his body again, checking again if anything feels different to how it should, only to find nothing.
His muscles don't protest when he pushes himself upright, the bed doesn't try to stop him when he crawls out of it, and the cat doesn't stop purring.
"I suppose you don't know why I'm here either?" Alec asks the cat when it pushes his head in the palm of his hand. His voice is slightly rough from sleep, but, other than that, Alec feels the way he usually does. Better even.
Or he would if he knew where his bow and arrows were.
