body language and non-verbal social cues are an inherent part of hominid communication regardless of what language or culture you’re a part of. If your autism prevents you from reading social cues that’s unfortunate and people ideally should be sensitive and willing to accommodate that, but if you are able to read social cues and you’re willfully ignoring them because you think that they shouldn’t be used as tools of communication period, then you’re a a dipshit who’s intentionally making people uncomfortable for the sake of some fucked up ideology that any anthropologist or linguist or adept communicator will tell you is unserviceable to the human experience.

Social cues and non-verbal communication exist for a reason. Acting like we should deliberately try to phase it out in favour of everyone being vocally up front about whatever is on their mind is not only completely infeasible, but also just generally a horrible idea for a multitude of reasons. Sometimes saying what you’re thinking or feeling out loud is not always a safe option, or will make certain situations worse and it’s better to be subtle and tactful.
