i think while some small criticisms are valid, and there is a variety of preference across the fandom, most of the stuff /i/ have personally seen feels like people who are struggling to handle the narrative shift, and are viewing the story louis laid out for us in season 1 as absolute truth. i feel like, some, not all, people are struggling to move on from that version of reality which is how we get takes like "nothing happened this season" (different tone, not ldpdl somber recounting of literal decades of life, primarily happens "in real time") and "everyone is so out of character" (they are all different people than they were in season 1, they are all described by lestat)
