If they added Maddy to Marvel Rivals, what kind of powers would you want her to have? Cosmetics? Keychain?
Personally, if weāre getting Madelyne as a playable hero, Iād want her to be a Vanguard. Purely because Iām a Vanguard main. But, her as a Strategist would be a ton of fun too! Just not a Duelist, because Jeanie is already a Duelist, and we already have enough Duelistsā¦
Anyways, I have a few ideas for her kit!
Madelyne as a Vanguard would be a summon-based utility/cc tank! I think would be really fun if she was able to summon her army of goblins and Limbo demons to just overwhelm the battlefield with numbers. Itād be super unique in the game, leaning into her Queen of Limbo title and bringing something fresh to the table we havenāt seen from a Vanguard yet!
Think like Graves from Deadlock? Sheād have an ult that makes a rift or portal or something to Limbo that can spawn demons and send them out to attack the nearest enemy targets. This would be a great tool to make space or just something to pop to contest the point and distract the enemy team from higher priority targets like your supports. Just Maddie full sending an army of goblins into the fray.
Her weapon/primary fire would be her Scythe of Sorrows as this would be something to differentiate her silhouette from everyone else in the game and itās just fucking cool to play as a character with a giant āfuck youā scythe as a weapon. She can attack at melee range with the scythe or imbue it with magic/TK and do slashes out to mid-range
Her other abilities would be oriented around cc (crowd control, for my non-gamer girlies), using her telekinesis or magic to stun or slow enemies and making it easier for her minions and team to jump her enemies
So, definitely an off-tank and more utility-based rather than your typical dive or shield tank. However, great at controlling space like Peni or Groot whether this be engaging a teamfight or stalling one out. Just know, if you get near her, youāre going to be jumped with malicious intent.
Sidebar, I think itād funny that Jean would be a direct counter to Maddie as Phoenixās ult would be able to clear Madelyneās summons/ult off the field. Itās thematic, yāknow? And it gives those Phoenix mains something else to do rather than solo ulting people (itās me, Iām the Phoenix main solo ulting people)
For Maddieās base design, her Krakoa fit for sure. Rivals is set in the Krakoa era, so it just makes sense to go with Madelyneās Krakoa design and have her original Goblin Queen outfit be a classic skin (or her release skin?)
And for accessories, well, Nathan, naturally. I think a little plush of her son would be adorable, something to hang off of her hip or on her scythe to remind herself of him.
She can also have an Illyana plush? Thatād be cute too, a little token of a friend. Or a Kāyrb one!! Wait, scratch Nathan and Yana, I want her charm to be her demon assistant.
Either way, this is a very out there concept for Madelyne, I get it, however, Deadlock managed to make a summoner character work for a shooter, so why canāt Rivals? This kit blends together her Queen of Limbo/Goblin Queen aesthetic, her telekinesis, and incorporates her Scythe of Sorrows, and I just think thatās neat!
No matter what, I just really hope she gets added to the game as a playable characterā¦ Iād get her animated lord no matter what role sheād be <3
Andā¦ there is hope? Emmaās third lore story is titled āCuckoos and Goblinsā and Iām thinking that if weāre already talkinā about Emmaās clone daughters, the goblins part might be talkinā about another clone

But god, a double feature season with the Stepford Cuckoos as Strategists and Madelyne Pryor as a Vanguard would be my DREAM. I need it to happen. Please.
