Okay I feel like asking me least favorite isn’t even fair because everyone knows what my least favorite is I talk about it all of the time and yk what I’ll talk about it again too because it deserves it. Young Avengers volume 2 is the most trash fire of a Young Avengers run to ever exist and it makes my blood genuinely boil. The art is so stiff and lifeless it pains me to look at, the pacing is a total disaster because they insist on shoving thirteen plots into it and caring about absolutely none of them, the writing is genuinely so boring and flat and emotionless, and on top of that every single character manages to be mischaracterized to hell and back!! Kate dates Noh-Varr, a man who tried directly to kill them all, and it’s never even addressed. Billy isn’t even allowed to acknowledge that his brother got erased from existence. The story acts like it’s giving Teddy this space to be emotional and explore his feelings but it doesn’t actually give a shit about how he feels or why that matters!!! It’s a story that pretends to be built around characters and their motivations while simultaneously not giving a shit about any of the characters it includes. It is really really unfortunate that I like Tommy’s characterization in the ONE ISSUE HE GETS TO APPEAR IN so much because if I didn’t I would be perfectly fine never thinking about vol2 ever again in my life. And on top of all that, I have personal beef with this series, because it is directly and measurably the reason that Tommy Shepherd got completely ignored in comics for a DECADE PLUS and I am pissed as fuck about that and always will be because I am not even a little exaggerating when I say that his lack of popularity is vol2 and Kieron Gillen’s fault. So uh yeah if you like it I’m so glad for u but if I could I would strangle Young Avengers volume 2 with my bare hands please and thank you 🫶
