also pissing me the fuck off that ALNST’s entire plot and story and everything revolves around the lesbian couple and all I see people talking about is the two men that people keep reducing to generic yaoi. like I don’t know what i expected but boy am I mad about it!

pretty much everything about the way the ALNST fandom fanonizes Till and Ivan’s relationship drives me fucking insane but particularly when people try and frame Ivan’s obsession with Till as him viewing Till as this perfect savior it’s like *loud incorrect buzzer noise* wrong! that’s canonically how Mizi views Sua nice try! Ivan is obsessed with Till because Till is the most emotional and therefore the most “human” out of any of them and fights tooth and nail to avoid losing that whereas Ivan has never been taught to understand or express his own emotions Till is not a savior to him Till is INTERESTING to him there’s a differenceeeeee stop trying to soften Ivan and Till’s relationship by willfully misinterpreting their characterssssss

people r so afraid for their characters to be bad people it actually drives me insane. “Oh but they did this objectively wrong thing—” yeah and it was an interesting character choice. “But they hurt the people around them—” good I’m glad it makes the story more interesting that way. “B-but how can you like them if they are objectively imperfect!!” you mean how can I like them for being a character in a story where they successfully use that characterization to tell the story that story was trying to tell. gee I fucking wonder

girlfriend just told me whenever I start liking a character she preemptively starts thinking of them as trans so that when I apparently inevitably hc them as trans she’s already doing it. which sounded a little ridiculous to me until she listed out every character I have ever liked and one by one checked them off the list as trans. so um maybe she’s actually onto something here idk
