Summary:
Rahne realises, a little too late, that her hands have gone all long and clawed and furry, and that her sharp nails are digging into Dani’s palms. The buzzing in her ears grows. She nearly recoils- but Dani clenches her hands tighter and looks her dead in the eyes. “I- Rahne, I’m fine, you don’t need to get the Professor, just- it’s- the bond, Rahne, just listen.” Rahne listens. She can hear something unexpected. Something… uncomfortable. Something that really, really shouldn’t be possible. “Dani.” She says. “Dani, why can I hear two of you?” (OR: Rahne and Dani- from fifteen years in the future- get thrown back in time to the heyday of Charles Xavier's Institute for Gifted Children. Claudette is objectively better 
Frankly it’s startling that putting Captain Marvel in charge of Alpha Flight went as well as it did. It certainly wasn’t perfect and, much love to all of them, Captain Low Impulse Control and Team ‘I hate myself and all of you’ sounds like a match made in hellfire, not to mention Abigail Brand and whatever she has going on. And they put them in charge of space diplomacy! Alpha Flight! They can’t even have normal conversations with each other but sure, let’s promote them to the people that stop aliens from killing everyone.
All things considered there was so much less interpersonal violence, property damage and general fuckery than there could have been. Like wow they were really all on their best behaviour huh.
