Emma Frost: Electrifying Monowire (a weapon she can use to bind people up or stun and slice them apart? Yes please.), a Cyberdeck (also naturally, being a Netrunner), Integumentary cyberware akin to Subdermal Armor but activateable (her Diamond Form, essentially. A sort of dermal plating that covers her entire body for a short period of time, granting her enhanced armor and strength while it's active, but takes a lot of bandwidth to maintain), a Deep Dive Port, and various other augmentations to facilitate her Netrunning. And, a lot of cosmetic ones as well, naturally. All top of the shelf stuff, the White Queen was the head of two megacorporations (Frost International which she led, and Hellfire Trading Co. which is a joint effort with the Inner Circle), after all. Unfortunately, most of Emmaâs cyberware got fried by Shaw after she was kicked from the Inner Circle, so merc Emma is only running at roughly a third of her original capacity. Sheâs working with Forge to restore her systems, though, but itâs slow and painful and rather expensive. Also, the glowing blue sunglasses I always draw her with? Thatâs a hologram projection that appears when sheâs hacking, those glasses are entirely for aesthetics.
Phoenix: A Cyberdeck (something similar to the Militech Canto Mk.6, but completely consuming her consciousness because of the Blackwall shit sheâs dealing with in her brain. I suppose Maddie is also sort of like the AI voice you hear from the Canto deck!), a Deep Dove Port, and a Projectile Launch System (filled with explosives and a flamethrower for her to blast fire out of her arms, because I think thatâs neat). Phoenix also has an array of good Netrunning cyberware (thanks to Forge) like a Bioconducter, etc., but sheâs got a much more scrappy system since sheâs a Street Kid mercenary compared to the high-end corpo setup Emma used to have
Wolverine: Think of Oda. Yeah, thatâs Wolverine for the most part. He was an ex-Arasaka dog who underwent an experimental upgrade and went a bit feral afterwards. Heâs long since broken off from Arasaka to pursue his vengeance against the corp, but heâs got all the experimental cyberware still in him. Namely, a Berserk (that is sort of constantly active), a Biomonitor to keep his heart afloat because of it, Adamantium (Titanium) Bones, and, of course, his iconic Mantis Blades. Also Adamantium.
Cyclops: He used to be a Maelstrom ganger so⌠yes. Cyberware, all of it. He has cyberware. His flashiest piece will of course be the iconic red eyes/visor he has built into his skull. Otherwise, heâs got plenty of cyberware to enhance his shooting and combat. He joined the gang because he didnât want the weakness of his flesh body to stop him from protecting his family, and he walked out of Maelstrom borged the hell out, half-cyberpsycho, and all the more capable of holding his own in a fight than ever. No one will touch his X-Men as long as Cyclops has something to say about it.
Magik/Illyana: A Sandevistan, and just, borged the hell out everywhere else. She has hooved legs with spikes for even more manoeuvrability and agility! And a Doll Chip (with Darkchylde as a faulty personality on there), of course. And a SWORD!
Shadowcat/Kitty: Optical Camo and a Kerenzikov. Sheâs like a ghost, gets in and out without a sound like she can walk through walls
Storm/Ororo: Nothing. Sheâs fully âganic. Good for her.
I wonder if Scott wouldnât even like giving head because the idea of genuinely blowing someone up with his eyes during oral sex is terrifying and would be a mood buster?
Furthermore I wonât lie I know quite a number of men in their late twenties / early thirties who do not want to do oral sex and one even had an argument with his girlfriend about it and it kind of spread down the grapevineâŚ

I think, at least with Jeanie, sheâs self-aware and humble enough to understand sheâs not perfect. Does she like that fact? Hell no, sheâs been told she was perfect her entire life, and has always strived to be that perfection
So trying out a new hobby and utterly failing will be a bit of a crippling blow, even if she understands this is only human
Emmaâs comment about her art does do irreparable damage to her ego, however
Jean kind of just flops her head onto the desk with a dull thud and Emma starts panicking because âoh my god that sounded like it hurt, are you okay?!â and Jean is just groaning with her head in her arms like âIâm a faaailllluuuuurrreeee T-Tâ
Mm, I have mixed feelings about Sadie Sink as Jean Grey, but tbh I'm glad how they show her characterâlike how she gets angry, switches modes, and shows off her power. I'm also really happy they included Sara Grey in the MCU because it's a great way to introduce Jean. But I have a theory: Jean in the Spider-Man movie is around 17 to 19, which means she's a younger Jean from before she joined Xavier and adopted his philosophy about only using powers when necessary and for good reasons. So this Jean doesn't hesitate to use her powers or mind control people because she believes she needs to find her sister and doesn't care how she does it. I think Sadie Sink is only playing teenage Jean, not the adult one, which means we might get two Jeans in the X-Men movieâan adult Jean who died and a young Jean who came from a different timeline. That could also mean Emma Frost is going to end up being young Jean's mentor in the MCU.

I know I said I would get this out, so here are my thoughts lmao
Iâd like to preface this by saying I really enjoyed the movie. I liked Sadieâs portrayal. She did a knock-out job with her part (and so did the rest of the cast!). However, I did not like this writing/characterisation for Jean Grey.
Even if itâs true sheâs âyoungâ Jean (which I doubt), thatâs not young Jean. Young Jean was hotheaded, used her powers selfishly, but she was still empathetic (for the most part). She was driven by her emotions, yes, her naĂŻvetĂŠ was a highlight, but she was also motivated by her care for the O5, she didnât actively try to kill and maim innocents and civilians for no reason other than to fuck with somebody she had just met. Sheâs not the sadistic monster she was painted as for 2/3 of the damn movie T-T
Yes, her sister was taken, yes she felt utterly alone and had nothing, but does that justify her driving a massive tank through a populated city street instead of covertly sneaking into Damage Control headquarters? Does that warrant making a man walk backwards into traffic to taunt Peter with a bit of extra trauma? No, no it does not.
And Jean faced shockingly no consequences for any of her actions. They tried to give us the âYou have meâ ending with her and Peter despite her atrocities, and it didnât feel good or earned in my opinion. I get she was hurting, I get she was desperate, but jesus christ Jean, youâre just shooting people to shoot people at this point-
Like, when she was lashing out in her grief near the end, and that felt like something Jean would do. Jean loved her sister, and had just found out that these people had taken Sara from her and murdered her (with no remorse, taunting her with that fact). It makes sense as to why, in that moment, she unleashed her full power onto Damage Control and that ended up catching innocent people in the crossfire. However, her actions leading up to that point were needlessly cruel because the writers needed to make her an antagonist for Peter
Donât get me wrong, I appreciate they let her be angry, be evil, be cruel, but it didnât feel like an angry, cruel Jean, it felt like writing for another character that was far more heartless than Jean Grey ever was, far more sadistic and manipulative, and who was changed last minute into Jean by the higher ups while the writers were forced to rush a retcon last minute with less than stellar resultsâŚ

Anyways, this brings me to the main reason I was so against Sadie playing Jean. Itâs got nothing to do with her talents (as I said, she did wonderfully in this part), but this just means the MCU is stuck in this really weird young X-Men limbo hell of stories they can and canât do with this cast (depending on how much weâre changing and what weâre adapting)
I knew this was going to happen, of course it was going to happen, but like⌠oh god⌠ughâŚ
I guess weâre going to start from the beginning with the X-Men if we are this young? Which means⌠more Dark Phoenix adaptations⌠yayâŚ
Please, I know those stories are iconic and core to the mutant narrative but can we get something different for once please holy fucking shit Iâm so fucking tired of every piece of X-Men content being the same 3 stories over and over and over again PLEASE THERE ARE SO MANY OTHER STORIES WE CAN DO. THIS WAS A CHANCE TO MOVE ON AND MAKE SOMETHING DIFFERENT! WE HAD A CHANCE TO START WITH A FRESH SLATE AND COVER NEW STUFF WITH AN OLDER CAST AND-

Am I happy with the prospects that Emma is going to be weirdly age gapped from the core X-Men? No lmao. Can I do anything about it? Nope.
So, for now, Iâll just suck it up and hope for the best. I just want my X-Men to be done justice, thereâs so much potential for them in the MCU, and I just want the best for my favourite characters!
I just wish Jean was written better in this movie. I still love her, and this movie was great, and her part was wonderful, she just deserved better, and Spider-Man also deserved better than to have his own movie be used to push the Mutant Saga for Disney.
If we end up doing Emma mentoring Jean⌠I donât know⌠I liked the story enough in the comics, but Iâm not sure if I want that for the MCU. It worked in the comics because there was history there, and it was interesting because we knew what Jean would grow into and how different time-displaced Jean was from her adult counterpart
I just⌠want Emma to be a villain for a movie or two when the X-Mem films drop. Let the Hellfire Club be antagonists and then slowly redeem the White Queen like they did with Loki. Her arc is perfect for that sort of stuff⌠but, itâll just be so weird with the age gap between the X-Men if this is the path weâre heading for Jeanie

Illyana Rasputin has a Doll chip, a faulty one, one loaded with a personality that never quite got wiped and is always lurking somewhere in the back of her mind. Darkchylde, as she has come to call it, comes in handy sometimes in this new life sheâs carved out for herself as a solo, however, and with Shadowcatâs careful monitoring, Illyana can rest⌠mostly easy? As easy as one can in Night City, at least. If anything, Darkchylde is the perfect face for Illyana to wear while sheâs hacking her way through Tyger Claws and Arasaka grunts alike with her giant sword in one hand and a Sandevistan at her back.
Katherine Pryde, a techie more well known in the merc scene as Shadowcat, still has the marks of her old gang drawn all over her body. She used to be a Tyger Claw, a techie at Clouds, a woman who kept her head down and worked her magic on the Dollsâ chips. That was until Illyana, that was until Belasco and Darkchylde. Shadowcat has long left those cushy days at Clouds behind, following after Magik into the adrenaline filled life of a solo, both as a partner in crime and as the only techie in this world who has a chance of keeping that faulty personality on Illyanaâs chip at bay, it seems. Not that Kittyâs complaining, of course, this new life suits her just fine.
