Lonnie on the other hand, is first and foremost a revolutionary. He doesn't believe the system should exist. Period. Full stop. He doesn't believe that ANYONE has the right to dictate laws to another and so fights to dismantle the system in the name of maximum freedom for everyone. Likewise he is, in my and others preferred version of the character, and avowed anti-capitalist. He condemns the system as a whole as well as the individuals who participate in it. Not just the manifestly malevolent ones such as Lex Luthor but even men like Bruce Wayne and Olive Queen who are as benevolent as men in their positions could ideally be are valid targets since, by virtue of their positions as owners of their respective companies, they still reserve for themselves a position of authority over their fellow citizens. Lonnie can not and will not abide that because if he did, he would betray everything he stands for.

This fundamental difference is philosophy is what prevents Lonnie from ever being a member of the batfamily because simply put neither side is willing to bend enough to make it happen. Lonnie is as firmly entrenched in his worldview a the batfamily is in theirs and both view the other's as unworthy of pursuit. From the batfamily's perspective, Lonnie is well-intentioned but too radical calling for the destruction of a system that merely needs reform. The batfamily from Lonnie perspective is likewise well-intentioned but but lack the vision or courage or whatever is required to see that revolution is the only path forward and so waste their talents and considerable resources propping up a system that cannot be made to serve the needs of the majority because it isn't designed to even consider them.

At the absolute most, Lonnie should be an occasional ally, because he will work with them when it serves the people's needs, but even so he should also operate as an antagonist (never villain) because Lonnie is willing to punish people for the kind of perfectly legal injustices that the batfamily begrudgingly tolerate I.e the rights of a insurance company to deny life saving treatment because it's too expensive. Regardless of how they interact, Lonnie should be a challenge to the batfamily, making them think, are their methods truly helping the people most in need, are they doing enough just fighting costumed criminals, who even counts as a criminal?
