The Apothecary Diaries is such a breath of fresh air because this is a story that genuinely seems to love women. 8x17 eddie said "you're spiralling and nobody knows how to talk to you about it" because buck wasn't talking about it and buck got his back up about it and said sorry I'm sad that bobby died even though Crucially he was not talking about the fact that he was sad that bobby died to Anyone. and eddie got his back up about Buck getting his back up. because eddie Wanted to talk about being sad that bobby died. Together. he wanted them to share that sadness. but didn't know How to talk to him about it. because buck was measuring how sad everyone else was without actually engaging with his own sadness and also without actually engaging with anyone else's sadness. and fastforward to 9x14 and buck is spiralling and eddie doesn't know how to talk to him about it because buck is not talking about it. this thing they both went through but Again in different ways. and it feels familiar. because eddie wasn't there when bobby died. and he wasn't there with buck in that house. but he was There. and he remembers that fight in the kitchen. he remembers buck spiralling and not knowing how to talk to him about it. he remembers buck getting his back up about it. he remembers doing the same and how it got them nowhere. so this time he's careful. even though he wants to talk about it. wants so bad for buck to talk to him about it. so they can talk about it. together. he puts all of it aside and says, okay buck. i shouldn't have judged your way of dealing with this. i'm sorry. even though he Knows buck is not okay. even though He's not okay. because he also knows that in order to step into the mess with him buck has to be willing to open the door. and this is significant particularly considering eddie's past. where he's struggled with not being able to save people. something something you cannot save people you can only love them. so he loves him. he shows up and he loves him. see you next week.

can you imagine though? Chim remembering that he asked Bobby to take care of his kids if he died. and then when Bobby died Chim thought he had to protect Harry. but it was the first kid that he forgot. it was Buck who was slowly dying here.
