#the jedi aren't even TRYING to stonewall palpatine this time#this is just normal for jon antilles and nothing changed when he took on a padawan#palpatine keeps sending his agents after anakin and somehow they keep winding up dead#and worse: before they die they manage to leave behind yet another clue as to his entire plan#he has dooku send jango after them and they discover kamino and the clone army#palpatine sends dooku instead and they discover either sifo-dyas's fate or geonosis#palpatine finally goes himself and funnily enough the last planet they were seen on was malastare#but when he arrives the dugs tell him they're pretty sure the two jedi are dead and his rage creates a massive sinkhole#and what could be in that sinkhole you ask? it's a zillo beast with a metal chair!#jon and anakin were actually just off meditating for a few weeks nearby and come back when they feel a major shockwave in the force#neither of them are particularly pleased to have to make ANOTHER call to the council about a really weird mess that just happened

idk i always kind of roll my eyes at all those posts that are like “people used to be ugly in movies” like….. well☝️i don’t think that’s true. i think male actors have always had more leeway to look a bit imperfect. we’ve had average/weird looking male actors in every generation, including this one. but people have always needed to be “hot” for movies. and they did crazy shit for it!! marlene dietrich getting teeth extracted to hollow out her cheeks, carole lombard undergoing her (non-cosmetic) facial reconstruction without anesthesia because they thought it would look better, etc ad infinitum. do you know the kinds of diets they had women on to keep them skinny…. not to mention beauty standards for women of color tryna be in movies. like there’s a reason the three biggest black actresses of classic hollywood decades were josephine baker, lena horne, and dorothy dandridge: all pretty lightskinned with smaller mouths and noses -> approximating whiteness (no shade i love these women sm). i think the difference Today is that there are simply way more procedures you can get done since cosmetic medicine has evolved so much. so people can change more of their face with better and more reliable results than they could in the 1930s. point being that people have definitely always needed to be conventionally attractive to be in movies but given the physical scope of what could be conceivably changed about your appearance there was simply more diversity in like facial structure and features

@ everyone in the notes suggesting that actually, they would be happy monitoring book stock, or sourcing beef---please know that I respect that, and honor your interest in things that I cannot bring myself to care too much about. However, "be a good boss who sorts out the schedule, determines pay fairly and honestly (while still turning a profit) adjudicates HR issues, monitors performance, and provides solid health insurance" is also not part of the fantasy.

not trying to put anyone on blast but why am i seeing people being like actually rainbow capitalism is good & you should not criticise it because now we dont even have that like. yeah? thats what everyone who has ever complained about rainbow capitalism has been talking about? we are aware that the clothing brand mass producing tshirts that say love is love in a sweatshop somewhere & the bank throwing people out on the streets handing colorful pens at a parade are not & have never been our allies? that the moment they think "supporting" us is not gonna make them enough money theyre gonna drop us without a second thought? that their catchy slogans & social media posts are empty & mean nothing? youre not gonna find allyship & community in a corporation theres no pride in buying a rainbow headband from a usamerican supermarket chain. like i understand how it can be nice to feel pandered to for a little but lets not fool ourselves please

Since you don’t respect my opinion anyway, quit pestering me to fill out a survey after every single consumer experience. I keep wondering who looks at these surveys. Is the CEO sitting in his wood-paneled office, reading each individual response on an old-timey stock ticker? If so, you can keep doing this. If not, I rate this experience zero stars out of infinity.

you actually feel gaslit when you try to tell white people of a certain age that pewdiepie, with a platform so vast and catering to youth, helped reinvigorate racism and casual dehumanization towards indians because they get all “omg you can’t blame One man for that” like yes i can actually :) we were very incrementally making our way past the gas station indian popularized by apu and indian creatives were finally being given legitimate and serious opportunities (like say what you will about aziz and mindy in hindsight but at the time that was a shift culturally) only for this dumb swedish pig to get online and spark that vile shit right back up. ask any indian with a modicum of pride in their heritage and they can tell you how uncomfortable pewdiepie made us with ourselves

i’m not doing 2016 politics with you like you are off your fucking rocker telling a person from a colonized country that is directly impacted by his racism that i have to mind the way i talk about him when he didn’t mind the way he talked about my ENTIRE ethnic and cultural identity, so much so that children now peddle casual racism against me & mine. nobody has to play nice with their colonizers and those who uphold their colonizers. like we have done these exact political talking points as far back as 2012 and it is so tired.
