At which point your biting them doesn’t count anymore unless you get bitten by another human in between. You gotta bite the vampire First

So the odds of a human succeeding are slim (unless said human is chill chomping on random corpses in coffins, in which case, uh, they might actually be a ghoul and not a human? I’m pretty sure humans don’t generally do that)

So like. To test my theory you’d have to locate, identify, and get the jump on a vampire without the vampire waking up and turning into mist or murdering you or whatever, and THEN you’d have to have the guts to bite the dead dude and Hope you don’t get it wrong + accidentally catch a plague and/or get arrested for grave desecration or anything

Humans have a natural aversion to All That Mess which keeps ‘em from trying. Meanwhile vampires have a lust for blood and an addiction to looking cool, so it only makes sense that the vamps would succeed in turning folks a bit more often. They’ve got a higher attempt rate and also they’ve got the human team convinced that Turning only goes one way
