They werenât lying when they said that as an adult you have to fight for your life to practice your hobbies
They also werenât lying when they said that when you fail to do so your soul shrivels up inside your body and dies
One of my controversial takes is that I kind of hate the term "rejection sensitive dysphoria" wrt adhd because it's so clearly the same thing as being anxious and insecure in relationships w trauma based disorders but people talk about it like it's just an intrinsic part of your brain that you're simply Too Sensitive & not, like, a consequence of every neurodivergent person alive being bullied as a child. Like that thing of how there aren't any non-traumatized autistic people to study
Like if you have Struggles Socially Disorder you're going to be disliked by most of your peers growing up & you'll be affected by this. Maybe you'll get nervous about people not liking you. & then people will try and tell you your problem is that you have Sensitive Bitch Disorder because you're paranoid
i experience something very similar to rsd, and i've never been bullied or othered or traumatized lol. not a big fan of this push to say every symptom is trauma! it's invalidating to people who haven't been hurt by anyone other than their own brains
dry humping in its specificity as a term implies the existence of wet humping
not my best work
To this DAY the best argument I ever had with my father was when we were sitting together on the bus to work discussing unions, where HE said âUnions are expensive scams that produce lower quality work at half the speed, theyâre bad for customers and bad for workersâ and *I* replied âMore money than you or I will ever make in our lives has been spent by CEOs of multibillion dollar industries who want to convince you that thatâs trueâ and he called me a conspiracy theorist and like a fucking âeveryone clappedâ ass moment an old man across the aisle from us pointed to me and told my old man âthe kidâs rightâ
Sooooooo many of societyâs interpersonal issues could be solved by kicking the shit out of a man and calling him good boy đ
AND âď¸ [!] joining a union
actually in hindsight a shitload of my personal self-damaging habits died off when I started sparring at the gym and got work benefits so damn maybe wâre onto something here boys

who taught you that suffering in silence was noble, and how would you shutting up have benefited them?
this also counts for all those times you kept your mouth shut and didn't complain because you were being polite, and people would gladly have changed things if you had just asked. your suffering was not noble. you do not get a cookie for it, you do not get a tally mark next to your soul's score for grinning and bearing it. your suffering serves no purpose. break free of it. you deserve comfort.

I love that Jimmy Olsen is exactly the type of photographer Peter Parker pretends to be. Just bat-shit insane.
Whenever someone asks Peter how he took a picture he's like "Oh! I uh-, climmed a flagpole. Totally"
And very mortal, normal-human Jimmy is like "See, Clark, is not that weird"
I mean, look at this nutjob.
The world could be ending, lava on the streets and Jimmy would be out there photographing away. No powers, no sense of self preservation. Just khakis, a camera and a dream.
I like to imagine Peter meeting Jimmy and immediately being mortified about it.
Jimmy: âand so luckily I was able to take the picture before the building collapsed on me... Superman was super pissed at me but, photographer to photographer, it was totally worth it.
Peter: Right, noâ See, this is actually my first time hearing how fucking insane that sounds. No wonder people at work look at me weird.

Beautiful art from one of my photos
(getting a taste of my own medicine) actually this is okay. Is this what you guys have bene whining about? Jesus christ
I identify the most with the woman who has a green velvet ribbon around her neck and keeps being like "DONT untie my neck ribbon or something really bad will happen" and then her husband unties the ribbon and her head falls off. this is extremely real to me. spent my whole life like "please don't do this thing to me or really bad stuff will happen" and everyone around me being like "that sounds fake" and doing it anyway. and then my head fell off!
We laugh at how The Art of War is basically just, "An army can't fight if the soldiers aren't eating," but I'm reading this document about conservation of ancient yew trees and it legitimately says, "You should never fill the center of a hollow yew with concrete," so I think that probably making blatantly obvious statements is just the bane of being a specialist in anything
btw if youre young and scared of doing adult things without your parents ive learned that like 90% of the time you can just tell the doctors office or the dmv "haha sorry ive never done this without help before... can you show me how to do this?" the employee will not care. if that means anything to you

Never thought I would consider the notion that Argentina is keeping Chile warm with its colossal ass.
Hm. So apparently people with epilepsy can learn to sense when they have a seizure coming. I wonder if you could use that as a plot device thing in a story somewhere.
Like there's some big-ass Great Public Council Meeting about some important politicial issue, Roman Senate style, and there's two opposing sides about the issue, but also a big chunk of undecided people who could be persuaded to vote either way. And there's someone in attendance, who hasn't spoken out loud about the issue anywhere but sides strongly with one of the options. And just when the dispute is about to swing to the wrong direction, they sense a seizure about to happen, and it's too late for them to try to get out of there or really even warn anyone.
So instead they just stand up, boldly announce, "I, for one, am sure that [option they do not want] cannot fail! If I am wrong, let the Gods smite me right where I stand!" and then the fucking seizure hits.
I used to get really bad nose bleeds but sometimes could feel when they were starting. One day in middle school this guy in geography class wouldnât shut the fuck up about that conspiracy theory that Delaware doesnât exist, so when I felt one coming on I loudly interrupted the rant our teacher was inexplicably allowing to derail the class by saying âif you donât stop Iâm gonna have an aneurism!â The guy of course just kept going so a second later a small torrent of blood gushed out of my head and, being a dramatic bitch, I collapsed face down onto my desk into a nice little puddle of blood. Anyway apparently outside of intense Roman Senate-esque debates, these stunts apparently induce panic attacks in educators and end up with you getting lectured about how traumatizing it is for your classmates when you âfake your death for dramatic effectâ
I believe this falls into the "I don't think people should be punished for objectively funny crimes" category.
