The Aurelio-Ashworth siblings, the Mayor's kids. You get the golden child eldest daughter Octavia and her underachiever younger brother Keagan. Trivia's galore:
They're both probably test tube babies. It's not gonna be treated as a big deal compared to not having proper parents who only had them as part of a business deal.
Their mother can only get her inheritance from their dead conservative grandparents who demanded she get married and have kids or go broke. She and her lawyer worked around that, clearly. She gets her inheritance and he gets a fighting chance running for mayor with her backing.
Both of them are named partially after some relative of their mother's, as part of the conditions for their mother to get her inheritance. It's one of their two names. Their other name is chosen by their father - they get two names as per his heritage's customs, nothing more or less. Their mother agreed cause any longer than that would be a pain in the ass to document (she is staring judgmentally at Adrien Agreste and his five first names lol).
Octavia is the best at fencing but it's mainly cause she has both talent and drive for it. Leo only has drive while Keagan only has talent (up until he gets motivated to get good at it in S3, ironically because of Leo's akuma episode where he attacked Shizuke as a civilian).
They get along and do care for each other but they're not very close.
Octavia is the sort of person who could love her plants dearly but totally would forget to water them daily in her goal to get them a better pot and fertilizer. She's also that way with her relationships. She gets it from her father.
Keagan is the genius of the two, but nobody could tell based on grades alone.
Octavia does try to bond with her brother through fencing - it's the only thing they have in common. She doesn't get his otaku hobbies and she's bad with tech.
Their mother actually remembers their birthdays and sends them presents on occasions but that's it. She's currently travelling across Europe.
Keagan acts like he hates his father but the thing is, he's also the parent he trusts more to be honest to and say shit. He's not scared his dad is just gonna up and leave like his mother if he talks back to him. You could say the cordiality with Keagan and his mother is pretty surface level.
Keagan doesn't get his attachment to either parent when they both kinda suck in different ways, especially his mother who doesn't really wanna be his mother.
... Maybe that's why he's kinda attached himself to Shizuke the mom friend and doesn't mind his nagging cause this is the closest he gets to getting mothered.
Octavia has the motherly instincts of a rock.
They were both mostly raised by Uncle Augusto until he died. Keagan is directly traumatized by it but Octavia has her own trauma...
Octavia doesn't really hang around Keagan that much, being a busybody at school and presenting as a golden child. Or maybe she just can't face her little brother who was at the center of it all when it happened while she kept contact with her friend, who he blames for it.
Octavia can kinda sympathize with Leo and why he's grown averse to Keagan. Between the two boys, Keagan emulates their uncle Augusto more than his own son Leo does.
Still doesn't justify calling Keagan a monster and blaming him for uncle Augusto's death. Octavia doesn't know about that and Keagan doesn't really confide in her much (honestly he rarely confides in people. If he does on the rare occasion, chances are he's running to Fiona or Shizuke, depending on the issue).
Though the siblings may not be close, they care enough that Octavia noticed that the Scorch incident still haunts Keagan, its in the way he goes so far with the Ladyblog and why she would challenge the necessity of doing this and going that far with it. She just doesn't know what to strike to get through to him. Tbf, even Fiona and Shizuke are struggling to get through to him too.
To emphasize, Octavia is usually oblivious and dense. Caring but only if she notices and gets it. It's why it's notable that she can tell he's still bothered about Scorch while others can forget about it until they step on a landmine (like Alicia in the Ego Split special chapter with Keagan as the POV).
Keagan is good at picking up other people's mannerisms and getting a good read on them... He is also good at doing impressions based on his observations. He did demonstrate it in BTaL when he mimicked Shizuke for a scene when he tried to explain stuff to Blake. It was a joke scene but he was intended to have done a good job miming Shizuke's expressions.
