“I chose a different path.” She said to Aro, voice low but firm. “After I believed you let me go. The Cullens gave me peace. Carlisle ways… it suits me. I did not come here to reclaim the past. I came because Edward—”
“Edward can wait.” Aro interrupted, the mask slipping back into place but cracked at the edges. He turned to the room, addressing them all with sweeping elegance. “My brothers, my guard. Behold what the fates have returned to me. Y/N, once our sister in arms, presumed lost to shadow and flame. Today marks a new chapter.”
Caius scoffed. “You would welcome back a deserter? One who consorts with the very weakness we despise?” His red eyes raked over Y/N with contempt, but beneath it lingered old respect. She fought well in her time.
