Ingredients: 3 large potatoes, boiled and mashed. 1 small onion, finely chopped. 2 cloves garlic, minced. 1 teaspoon turmeric powder. 1 teaspoon cumin powder. 1/2 teaspoon chili powder. Salt and pepper to taste. 2 tablespoons chickpea flour besan. 2 tablespoons breadcrumbs. 2 tablespoons chopped fresh cilantro. 2 tablespoons vegetable oil for frying.
Instructions: In a large mixing bowl, combine mashed potatoes, chopped onion, minced garlic, turmeric powder, cumin powder, chili powder, salt, pepper, chickpea flour, breadcrumbs, and chopped cilantro. Mix well until all ingredients are evenly distributed. Divide the mixture into equal-sized portions and shape them into patties. Heat vegetable oil in a skillet over medium heat. Once hot, add the potato patties in batches, making sure not to overcrowd the skillet. Cook the patties for 3-4 minutes on each side, or until they are golden brown and crispy. Once cooked, remove the patties from the skillet and place them on a paper towel-lined plate to drain any excess oil. Serve the turmeric potato patties hot with your favorite dipping sauce or chutney.
