I've been lurking here on Tumblr for a while just trying to figure out how it all works, but I think it's time that I start actually posting and reblogging things instead of just liking them.
So hi! You can call me Eli (all pronouns). Currently in my twenties and trying to get my life together. I love to write and have a lot of fanfic that I've... never posted, but I'm 100% open to fic questions, and I may post on here when/if I have the time. If you're curious about my work, feel free to ask, or search me up on AO3 as creativeimagination206 to see what I'm up to.
I have a deep-set passion for classic Hollywood (when I tell you Katharine Hepburn was my first crush on an actress...) as well as shows like Murder She Wrote, Perry Mason, Columbo, Good Omens, The Sandman, Rosemary and Thyme, and so many more that I'm probably forgetting. My current film obsessions are The Thin Man movies and the Back to the Future trilogy, and Clue, Delirious, and The Philadelphia Story are my probably top three favorites.
I also listen to a lot of music (or I try to), especially film soundtracks and musicals. I watch probably too much YouTube in my downtime, especially when I'm crocheting (a new hobby I learned recently).
I'm not great at video games, but I've been grinding my way through Hades lately, and should probably get back to Ace Attorney when I have the time.
If you wanna chat, feel free to hit me up! Life is kinda hectic right now, but I'm pretty good at responding to messages as soon as I can. Excited to get to know y'all!

also, google is free, but pick up a textbook every once in awhile. Find articles written by POC and keep up to date with how you can be a better ally. I took a black feminist theory class in college…taught by two white women.
You heard me right. Two. White. Women.
Which is fucking insane in itself, but on the first day of class one of the professors was reading an article, written by a black woman…and decided that it was completely acceptable and appropriate to drop the n-word (hard r) and every single person in class was fucking MORTIFIED. Even in the context of education, there was no reason for a white professor to so casually and subtly use that word. (They were called out for it immediately after and profusely apologized)
My point is that covert racism is still racism, and unfortunately it is alive and well.
I also have all of the articles and works saved from this class if anyone would like to do some heavy and necessary reading! I have hard copies, but I’m sure I can find the links for the articles as well.
Just after doing a little research on google, I found these articles to be incredibly helpful on breaking down covert racism, racism, white privilege, etc.
covert racism
systematic racism
racism and health
becoming trustworthy white allies
what is white privilege
books on systematic racism, racial justice, and anti-racism
race equity tools
Bottom line, white people have no excuse to not stand up for BIPOC. There is no excuse for racism. There is no tolerance, and we have to do better. I firmly believe that the first step in becoming a better ally is to educate yourself.

PSA to anyone who ever lingers on my blog for like more than a minute —
I just finished listening (spoiler free!) to The Magnus Archives, so I will be liking and reposting shit from the fandom for a while. It may or may not have spoilers.
They’re so funny let’s all read the book called ‘the book that kills you’ from hit audio drama ‘do NOT under any circumstances read the book called ‘the book that kills you’’.
This is a reminder for those who handmake Christmas presents that now is not too early to start. It may in fact be a good time to start if you have a lot to make/your craft takes a long time. You should maybe start it now, whether that's brainstorming or actually doing the crafts!

Yesterday I told a guy I was ace/aro and he asked what “aro” meant, so I told him, and he responded, “Oh, I thought it might be like A-E-R-O and I was confused.”
Yes. I am asexual/aerodynamic. At the slightest hint of sex or romance I launch myself into the air and land several miles away.
It was a huge milestone of scientific and technological advancement. (Plus, at the time, politically significant). Humanity went to space! We set foot on a celestial body that was not earth for the first time in human history! That’s a big deal! I’ve never thought about it before but now that I have, it’s ridiculous to me that that’s not part of our everyday lives and the public consciousness anymore. Why don’t we have a public holiday and a family barbecue about it. Why have I never seen the original broadcast of the moon landing? It should be all over the news every year!
It’s July 20th. That’s the day of the moon landing. Next year is going to be the 54th anniversary. I’m ordering astronaut shaped cookie cutters on Etsy and I’m going to have a goddamn potluck. You’re all invited.
PITCH: We call it Moon Day, and then every 7 years when it falls on a Monday, that's an even BIGGER deal and we call that Moon Day Monday and go absolutely apeshit about it (the next Moon Day Monday is in 2026 so we have a couple trial runs first)
btw I’ve found these stretches from the WAK blog very helpful when knitting a lot:
Plus make sure to take breaks regularly - and stop if anything starts to hurt!
especially with gift knitting I know it can be tempting to push through it for a deadline, but it’s really not worth causing long term injury. (And anyone knit-worthy should be understanding of that, imho.) Stay well :)
You are not a bother. You are not a burden. You are not a waste of space. You are not annoying every person you talk to. Your existence matters. Your presence makes a good difference.
Would love “what’s not living can never really die” for either Jon/Martin (TMA) or Aziraphale/Crowley, whichever you’d prefer. Thank you!!
Is both okay? I hope both is okay! 💖
4. What’s not living can never really die. (Jon Sims/Martin Blackwood) (The Magnus Archives) AND (Aziraphale/Crowley) (Good Omens)
It was an incongruous thing to find in the middle of a Fear-ridden hellscape, that was for damned sure. "Um," said Martin.
"Uh... yeah."
"Is that... a bookshop?"
"It... certainly looks to be. And..." Jon concentrated. "I can't See inside."
"Oh, that's not good. Right? That can't be good."
"I genuinely don't know."
"Is it... like..." Martin stopped. "I don't even know what question to ask."
"Me neither. It's, um."
"I mean, what are you supposed to even do with a used bookshop that just looms up out of the darkness at you?"
"Well," said Jon, after a moment or two of trying again to See or Know anything about the building and coming up empty-handed. "We could try going inside?"
"What."
"The lights are all on." Jon pointed to the door. "And the sign says 'Open.'"
"That's not a good reason to go inside! It's--"
There was a tiny jingle of a bell, and a cherubic face, plump and blue-eyed, appeared in the open doorway. "I say," it said, in a pleasant if slightly peevish voice, "if you gentlemen are going to come inside, then by all means do. If not, could you push on? You're making an awful racket."
~~~
There was tea. Cocoa was offered, but Martin jumped at the mention of tea and Jon was happy to let him have his way. The fair-haired proprietor (Mr. Fell, his name was even printed over the door), fluttery and round and reminding Martin of the nicest priest he'd ever known as a child, moved around the shop as though it was an extension of his body as he made the tea, while the other one (he hadn't bothered to introduce himself, but Mr. Fell addressed him as 'Crowley' with the same tone of perpetually exasperated fondness that Martin used with Jon), preferred to slouch improbably in corners and study them with a wine glass in one long-fingered hand.
His hair was as red as horror movie blood, and his eyes were yellow, slit like a cat's, and deeply unnerving (which was a riotous thing to think, sitting next to Jon); he made Martin feel like he was seeing every awful thing he'd ever done and thought, and judging them on some sort of scale. Mr. Fell's blue eyes were equally frightening, though in a very different way, like a reminder of how long it'd been since his last confession.
"So," Martin asked at last. "What's, um. What's your story?"
"Um," said Mr. Fell. "That's... rather long and complicated and... not especially relevant, all things considered. We're not even entirely sure why the shop decided to manifest here. It does that now, you see."
"Did it not used to?" asked Jon, looking around at the books. There was a wistfulness in his gaze, a relief to be surrounded by words that weren't statements, and a longing to consume them as a normal human would, instead of as an Archivist.
"No, that's... well. Only since the end of the world."
"Ah. ...I'm sorry."
"Oh, no!" said Mr. Fell hastily. "No, please don't apologize to us. We're, er..."
"Different. Different end of the world," said Crowley. "Different world. 'S our fault, not yours."
"Really," said Mr. Fell, "if you get down to brass tacks, it was entirely my fault."
"None of that, angel. We've been over it a million times. Literally. I've counted." Crowley snorted softly. "Nah, that's not even the real story. Our story's that I couldn't accept that a story should end after an author's done with it. Stories don't just end." He jerked his chin at Mr. Fell. "He taught me that."
"But... there's got to be an end somewhere," said Jon. He sounded so tired. "It can't just keep going on and on and on, it's not... that's... how do you bear it?"
"People end, dear boy," Mr. Fell corrected him kindly. "And you and your young man are still people, regardless of your peculiar circumstances."
Martin and Jon both blushed. Crowley let out a bark-like laugh. Mr. Fell's smile was more gentle, if also very weary.
"But now," he said, "you've been here." He moved to the desk by the window and opened a very large book on his desk. "So that part of the story will continue. All stories continue, you know. It's just their nature. So long as there's anyone left to tell them."
Crowley watched him begin to write, and Jon saw a flicker of something very old and deep and tender flash over his angular face. Then he pushed off the corner of a shelf and gestured Martin and Jon to a spiral iron staircase near the back of the shop. "There's a bedroom upstairs. You two get some rest. Once you leave here, and you'll have to, you know, you won't find us again."
Jon slept; Martin didn't. He just held Jon in bed, and listened all night. The light downstairs stayed on, and he could hear Crowley and Mr. Fell talking low, and the pen scratching all the while.
