Knitting finished as of last night! Still need to weave in a few ends, wash, and block.
Was aiming for 48” x 60”, came out 39” x 60” so far, but I’m hoping to be able to block it to a little wider and I’m ok losing a few inches of length for that

Everyone look at my project #myproject
how it started:
how it ended:
Omg i never posted them. yay okay so this is Lovelace the rat (they/them) and they’re my latest creation. I made the pattern myself and hand sewed them out of an old sweater i bought at the thrift store. They’re fully posable with jointed limbs and they’re about 20 inches tall. open the cut for the free pattern!!
Pictures of a recent project!! Trans quilt!!!
It’s a lap quilt, so not super big. I started and finished this in one night, working on it for 8 hours straight, and I’m really glad I did cause I’m so happy with the outcome.
Can’t wait to bring this with me to festival booths and pride :)
‼️ Since this is getting attention I do want to say I do NOT like reposts of my photos, especially without credit!!!! Message me please if you have questions about using my photos‼️

Moon blanket by Walshlandic
ultimate portability for a kumihimo project: half-empty roll of paper towels (kept from unraveling by being wrapped in string) inside a big souvenir cup. like I'm definitely going to be printing something to mimic this setup in a prettier way but this works

Presenting...QUEEN MATTRESS! From just a sketch to reality. I can't believe it's done.
"Sewing is a gateway drug to thinking through complex problems. It seems really simple; culturally, we make it women's work. Let me tell you: real sewing at any kind of level of proficiency is a bloody magic trick. Sewing, like mold making, involves mental frames that require one to think inside out and backwards. It requires one to work on an order of operations that is often taking into account the reverse. It's a really, really important skill, and if you learn how to sew, you're mostly on your way to carpentry and welding and sheet metal work. I'm not kidding: these are planar forms meeting under rules and conditions. And if you can make a sleeve work, I swear to God, you could build a house."

After 9 months of work, my Oseberg tapestry sweater is complete!
This was my first sweater knitted in the round, first stranded colourwork project, and my first time steeking. It was definitely my most challenging project so far, and a lot of learning and research was involved. I used a colourwork chart created by the very talented Molly Gifford, which is available for free on Ravelry
For reference, this is one of the fragments uncovered from the gravesite:
Some scholars think that the Oseberg tapestry includes the earliest known artistic depiction of Odin's ravens, Huginn and Muninn. So I added them to the sleeves as a little Easter egg.

Up close you can see how bright the colours are, I don't know why I didn't brighten the images in editing but I'm too lazy to redo that so hey.
made it through round 3... but at what cost... (a lot of annoyance and imminent frogging)
I realized I didn't post a round-up of the projects I finished in 2025, so here have it 3 months late!
The QR code is a link to a rickroll and it now hangs in our bathroom. The cat on the moon glows in the dark! The Japanese garden is huge (I think it's 11x17") and that one alone took me from January until around September to complete 😵💫
