Some Times News
The zine just got a second subscriber from Canada, this time from Quebec, so I figured I may as well start filling out the map of provinces/territories alongside US states.
Overall, I have readers in 30 states, 2 Canadian provinces, and a total of 5 countries (USA, Canada, the UK, Australia, and Sweden), plus a handful of email-only digital subs.
Issue 4 goes to print on Monday the 13th and will be sent out to subscribers on Tuesday the 14th. Issue 3 will be posted publicly here on the same day. The complete backlog is available on my pinned post.
Overnight we've added British Columbia and Germany to the map!
That reminds me, I need to buy another sheet of international stamps.
I got a subscriber from Ireland this morning
I need a higher resolution map.
8th country: Brazil
I usually finish the issues on the 13th and mail them out on the 14th, but I think I might be able to finish Issue 4 tonight and mail them all tomorrow.
31st state: Ohio
That's most of the Midwest taken care of, just need the Plains.
Oh, and heads up going forward, when you send a letter, always remember to include a return address on the outside of the envelope. That way if it can't be delivered to me you'll get it back and know I'm not ignoring you.
32nd state: Kansas
And with that, east and west are finally connected! We have 18 states and 10 provinces/territories left until total coverage, but this is a major symbolic milestone for me. When I started this zine I thought I'd get five subscribers total, maybe ten if I begged some of my mutuals and family members to check it out, but now it's literally coast to coast. More than that, I have readers in all four hemispheres! Thank you all so much. I'm glad this project has resonated with so many people. It's become a grounding constant in my life, a source of stability and community in these trying times.
Issue 3 went public last week, and if you'd like to receive a physical copy of Issue 4 before the public drop next month just send me a letter

Subscribing is free, and submissions are always welcome. Digital copies are available upon request.
33rd state: Mississippi
With that, we have the entire Gulf of Mexico, and the entire stip of southern states along the I-10.
I posted Issue 4 last week, and all letters postmarked before June 1st will be signed up for Issue 5; after that, you'll be signed up for Issue 6 instead.
4th Canadian Province: Alberta
I wonder which country will get completely filled in first. I'm gonna guess Nunavut or the Northwest Territories will be the very last one.
34th state: Oregon
I hope to get some subscribers from Mexico before the end of the year. May have to draw my own map though, because the only ones I can find online that break all three countries into their constituent parts are extremely low-res.

35th state: Maine
Only 15 states (Arkansas, Connecticut, Delaware, Hawaii, Kentucky, Nebraska, New Hampshire, North Dakota, Oklahoma, Rhode Island, South Carolina, South Dakota, Vermont, West Virginia, Wyoming) and Washington, DC left to completely fill out the US. Place your polymarket bets now, folks; a trillion schmillion bajillion dollars to whoever guesses what the last state will be. The best way to raise awareness on this project is to encourage and enable gambling addicts, of course! Please don't actually use polymarket...
But seriously, this is amazing! As of June 1st I have 97 subscribers from around the world, so it's looking like we're gonna break 100 this month! Thank you all so much! For your submissions, for your stamp donations, for your letters, kind words, pet photos, drawings, recipes, poetry, everything! You've given me so much encouragement and motivation, I never would have stuck to this project without you!
36th state: Arkansas
Issue 6 goes to print on Saturday the 13th, and I'll post Issue 5 publicly later that same day. It's looking to be a long one this month; my ideal issue would be four pages long, but a lot of them have ballooned to six, and I'll have to do a lot of editing to keep this one below seven (if I do seven, I may as well do eight because it's the same number of sheets, but I don't want to set a precedent like that because it's a big jump from printing 600 pages per month to printing 800)
