Fun fact: In several European countries where the drinking age is 18, and the age you can get a driver's license is also 18, there's a window of time where someone who just turned 18 and doesn't have a driver's license to use as an ID yet will simply use their passport. why do so many freaks go right to “there should be exams or tests before you have kids” when the real solution is better social services, robust infant and child development education that is accessible both financially and schedule/distance accommodating, and resources throughout any stage of a child’s life. genuine question like did you think about any social development before going straight to eugenics

Look i am not even a proponent of parental testing measures. However. having *entire classes* on parenting, and "robust social services" (notoriously misused to steal kids) is much more eugenics-minded than having a simple 10 question test to assess that potential parents know that they should (1) feed shelter and clothe their children and (2) refrain from bullying or physically harming them.

Idk man classes on how to handle parental frustration and difficult times without taking it out on your kids would save a lot of people a lot of therapy

it reads to me that people who do not see the benefit of these education services being widely accessible operate on the thinking that abusive parents are like, innately abusive instead of once being children that were likely also abused and traumatized and never had access to healthier ways to cope and some got their damage dealt so long ago that it’s calcified a little and the idea of resources to help them hasn’t settled in as a reality or option for them because trauma and abuse rewires your brain and to recover means to actively, over and over, try to rearrange the wiring. like maybe we might see less abuse in families if we got therapy and education from the top down and a less damaged parent would raise a less hurt child. but idk. maybe i’m the fool for sympathizing with my mother for growing up in the midst of an attempted genocide where men and boys just went “missing” so of course she wasn’t equipped to be the Best Parent instead of calling her an evil malignant narcissist

You can get and use windows 11 without logging in with a microsoft account, as of five days ago. I am a local user on my computer. Don't ask me how to do it, because my computer repair guy did it when he reinstalled windows, but there are tutorials out there. Refuse to connect to internet until you're set up and can use the computer freely.
