All my fic is on AO3. Back in the beforetimes I used to write. Maybe someday I will post something new.
I tag by fandom so people can filter stuff. I try to tag by character and ship, but sometimes Iâm too tired/itâs too much work.
Please consider this an 18+ blog and proceed accordingly. (At the very least donât tell me youâre underage if youâre gonna ignore this and follow me anyway. I want to live in blissful ignorance.)

idk if this is an usamerican thing or not but it always blows my mind as a small european country resident that yall have many names and types of apples???? what do you mean its not just red yellow or green??? why is it so complicated??? who is granny smith????
There are literally thousands of apple varieties in the world! This is because apples are one of those fruits that donât breed true, so every seedling apple is genetically distinct from its parent trees. Sometimes this means the fruit is inedible, or just boring, and sometimes you get something delicious, like Hauer Pippin or Bramley (which, as I understand it, is Englandâs premier cooking apple.) All the apple varieties that people want to keep are propagated by grafting: taking twigs or buds (scionwood) from the tree you want to propagate and attaching it to an existing tree or to rootstock (a rooted baby tree, either of a known variety with desirable traits like disease resistance, or an unknown seedling tree.)
The reason Americans are Like That about apples is because of supermarket food chains that value shelf life above all else, and also like. The Washington state apple-growing monopoly. (Do I resent Washington because their disgusting Red Delicious apples put my local apple farms out of business? Yes, yes I do.)
Anyway. Fellow Americans! Free yourself from the tyranny of apples that taste like wet cardboard - or wet, lemony styrofoam wrapped in plastic (Iâm looking at you, Cosmic Crisp) and discover the beauty and weirdness of apples!
So I thought y'all would like this too
This great white comes to the jersey shore every year and this year they named her and have been tracking her hella so this is Mary Lee and she decided to show herself under this rainbow for pride month

idk why people are still trying to do "hear me out"s on tumblr
you could talk about wanting to fuck the space needle on here and people would still call you a poser for insisting on fucking "conventionally attractive architecture" as if that's a coherent, easily-recognizable category
my erotic fanfiction is more historically accurate than yours. here it claims that shes moaning 'yes,' however classical latin didn't have a word that corresponds to Modern English 'yes,' i.e. an affirmative answer to an interrogative. You could have easily avoided this glaring implausibility by allowing her to moan plus, 'more'âas exemplified in my critically acclaimed fic with an unprecedented number of kudos (eleven). I recommend that you log out of AO3 and return only after acquiring satisfactory knowledge of the subject matter.
classical latin did in fact have an affirmative answer to an interrogative (sic), it's just not a cognate with modern english "yes" which is Germanic. but you probably recognize its modern descendants, spanish sĂ, italian sĂ, etc.
anyway how this is relevant to this post is that when Dido commits suicide in book 4 of the Aeneid she says "sic, sic! iuvat ire sub umbras" or "yes, yes! with joy i pass beneath the shadows" while stabbing herself, the allegory of penetration accompanied by shouts of ecstasy leading unto death being an interpretative exercise best left to the reader.
Transphobia is about to be signed into law in the UK. We can fight this.
I am begging the UK trans community and its allies to attend the Mass Lobby at Parliament on June 25th, 11am-4pm, organised by Trans Solidarity Alliance.
Last year we broke the record for an LGBT+ mass lobby of Parliament. Will you help us break it again? Join us on 25th June 2026 to demand be
The new EHRC Code of Practice pushes trans people out of toilets, hospital wards, and community spaces. It normalises gender policing based on appearance and stereotypes. It becomes statutory guidance in the UK by the end of June.
Trans people are now legally their assigned gender at birth and must join gendered spaces accordingly, but if they are perceived as their lived gender, they can also be ejected from those spaces. The guidance says: either break the law, or donât pass too well.
A mass lobby is where you invite your MP to discuss your concerns with you in-person. Ask your MP to:
Demand full parliamentary scrutiny, debate, and use their free vote on the EHRC Code of Practice.
Support any motions rejecting the EHRC guidance. As of June 4th, Labour MP Nadia Whittome has submitted a prayer motion - Early Day Motion 240.
Write to Bridget Phillipson, the Minister for Women and Equalities about our concerns
Your MP does not have to be an ally, they do not have to respond to your email for you to show up and greencard them (details below the cut.) What matters is that as many people as possible show up.
I cannot stress this enough: Showing up in person matters. It is much more effective than petitions, emails, and letters.
It is a horrible, stressful time, and I am so sorry if you're trans and live in the UK. But I was at last year's mass lobby and the line for greencarding alone stretched around the back gates. It was a record breaking mass lobby and made us impossible to ignore. Let's do even better this time. Details under the cut:
Worried about what to say?
Bring your personal worries about transphobia being signed into law, and trans friends being excluded from public spaces. You are a living person who deserves dignity. Remind your MP of that. You will also get guidance and brochures from Trans Solidarity Alliance that outlines our demands. This is mine from last year.
Money issues?
Trans Solidarity Alliance provides a travel bursary that you can sign up for via the link.
Got a refusal or no response from your MP?Â
Come anyway! You can request a same-day appointment with your MP through a process called greencarding. They will come and see you if theyâre already in Parliament. Even if they donât, theyâre made acutely aware of your cause because you showed up in person. This is my greencard from last year.
Here is the EHRC Code of Practice in full. It's a tough read, but some highlights are:
Organisations canât provide trans-inclusive, single-sex services, or they risk being sued for discrimination.
e.g. domestic violence support for women including trans women, menâs rugby group including trans men (12.68).
Trans people will have nowhere safe to pee.
If youâre a trans man, businesses can't allow you to pee in the men's, and you can also be ejected from womenâs bathrooms if youâre perceived as a man. Vice versa for trans women. EHRC suggests a âthird spaceâ bathroom, which is discriminatory and unworkable for most businesses. (13.130-133)
Sports organisations must exclude trans people from single-sex competitions (13.73).Â
A womenâs only sports competition must exclude trans women because of their biological advantage or face potential lawsuits (13.74), but a trans man who has undergone testosterone treatment can also be excluded based on fairness rules (13.81).
Trans women are stripped of the legal definition of âlesbianâ, and therefore no longer have legal protections if theyâre discriminated against on the basis of sexual orientation. (2.50, 2.92).
Here is the Good Law Project's better explanation of the EHRC Code.
I have also made a PDF printout of QR codes for the government petition, email your MP tool, and mass lobby link to pass around your communities. DM me and I'll send it to you.
From the Nashville Zooâs fb page! Hereâs the petition, please please please take a moment to add your name (even if youâre not from Nashville!). If you are from Tennessee, contact your representatives and make it clear that the people do not want this data center. This is an AZA accredited zoo which is home to several species of critically endangered animals, we NEED to protect it. Make your voice heard!
"these researchers published a paper on something that literally any of us could have told you đ" ok well my supervisors wont let me write something in my thesis unless I can back it up with a citation so maybe it's a good thing that they're amplifying your voice to the scientific community in a way that prevents people from writing off your experiences as annecdotal evidence

That âObi-Wan isnât perfect, actuallyâ post reminded me of a little piece of trivia. In Legends, the council believed Obi-Wan was the only one capable of defeating General Grievous, because Grievous was trained to take a lightsaber style and turn it against the user, and most Jedi used a certain style to compensate for a shortcoming, but Obi-Wan used Soresu not to cover a shortcoming, but because it was a purely defensive style, and Grievous would have a hard time turning it against him. Mace Windu was also afraid of fighting Grievous, because he didnât want Grievous to learn Vapaad.
oh god I canât stop thinking about Grievous gloating in front of the Jedi Order about how heâll always turn their own technique against them and they canât win, and then Master Windu says âtrue, but what are you going to do against THISâ and Grievous expects a super-secret and dangerous weapon, but Windu just brandishes a polite and gentle Jedi and heâs like â??? what is this little man going to do? suggest to talk about it calmly and offer me tea?â (Obi-Wan looks a bit offended because yes, sometimes he does suggest that)Â
and then two hours later, Grievous is panting and enraged, screaming at Obi-Wan âATTACK ME YOU STUPID JEDIâ and Obi-Wan, still only blocking and parrying and not even sweating, is like âno, no, I donât think I willâ Â
This reminds me of the fact that "Ancient Egypt" goes back so many thousands of years, that the most recent "Ancient Egyptians" were already studying (even more) Ancient Egypt.
For context, the last Pharaoh, Cleopatra VII, lived in the 1st century BCE. Prince Khaemweset, known as "the first egyptologist", was as ancient to her as the pyramids and tombs he was studying were ancient to him.
This has totally be mentioned in another fork of this post, but it reminds me quite a bit of Ennigaldi-Nanna's museum, a museum in Ur, c. 530 BC, which housed mesopotamian artifacts dating back in some cases to the 20th century BC

Realizing I'm somebody's longterm follower who they don't follow back but check in on every so often. This is what's happening when you see the [Following] in your notes
To our dismay, the artist and author Marjane Satrapi has passed away.
As she wrote, ordinary Americans and Iranians have more in common with each other than we do with either of our governments, which have far too much in common with each other.
