Commenting on the art of "filing the serial numbers off" and what story foundations may get lost is fun, except for the few people who rush in to apparently comment back happily arguing the inherent inferiority of fanfiction as media as though wholly original fiction never commits the errors of... *checks notes* having some worldbuilding plot holes or underused characters who seem kind out of place or just not being very good.
