The entertainment industry is either fundamentally incapable of learning or willfully opposed to it. Every time a new project is announced and everyone says "LOOK AT THIS! WAOOW THIS IS SO TRUE TO THE SOURCE MATERIAL!!" I just set up my lawn chair, crack a cold one, look at my (figurative) watch (I don't wear watches) and wait for the inevitable press drips of "We've taken special care to update this property for ThE MoDeRn AuDiEnCe!!" Or an actor saying "Remeber character trait that was clearly portrayed as a flaw for the character? That big no no in current day so now we change it make character good soft boi UwU" Uh huh, you don't say, shocker that you went ahead and took the liberty of "fixing" that "stinky, problematic" source material that all of those (insert whatever buzzwords here to impugn the character of the long standing fanbase) to make this property more accessible for the NEW audience. Aka people who have no interest in anything other than whatever current day issue they're mad about and therefore won't go to see the movie you made, or vidya gaem, or streaming show because they don't care about the property and only their slacktivism? Weird, crazy, if this happens 7 or 8 more times maybe you should think about possibly considering looking into a hypothetical scenario wherein you maaybe entertain a world in which you might someday address this. But until then, just keep going "MONEE PWEEEEEEZ"
