So this week I’m designing some digital lock screen/home screen wallpaper duo packs for (probably) £10 per pack. Planning on having the official post up to get yours late next week. Let me know some theme/subject suggestions you’d like to see for the wallpapers so I can get to drawing!

I still find the best gay novels that are WWI adjacent or at least nearer the era are things like Maurice, Despised and Rejected, or A Month in the Country type books. Their older years of publication makes their romance narratives a lot more understated and tender, a sort of “feeling about silently in the warm darkness” kind of impression when those years of hiding were still well within living memory; I’ve always felt it made them come off as more authentic and believable. It’s a kind of feeling I’ve yet to see current gay WWI era novels capture, but that’s just what I personally look for in what I like to read.

I don’t know what I was expecting from the author I didn’t realise at the time was the same John Boyne that wrote a “best selling novel” that was famously condemned by Holocaust historians followed by his novel about a young boy befriending Hitler 😭
