I was just telling my sister she needs to get a gas mask for the smoke. She told me she had some of those disposable painters masks and they weren't doing shit. Not even the same thing lol.

They’re handing out n95’s at work but even indoors with the A/C going it’s fuckin with my eyes

For smoke some simple particulate filters should work fine. No need for any fancy filters.

N95 is rated to block particulates something like 1/10 the size of smoke, so even the cheap stuff is overkill

So a brand new Avon C50 is probably super overkill huh

Not bad. I still like the CBRN M40 mask but the visibility sucks. It takes any 40mm filters so that’s a plus.

Right before COVID hit someone local bought a lot of 100 copsurp MSA Ultra Elites from a local PD and was offloading them on FB Marketplace for $20 apiece. I've had excellent experiences with the two I bought, and MSA's customer service was top-notch when I reached out to them with an issue. I've got a couple 40mm CBRN adapters for it but I leave those sealed in the vacuum foil, any time I ever actually need to use it I just toss in a 3M acid gas filter on the adapter I posted above, and it gives most of the same protection as a CBRN filter but it runs $25 a pair and the mask only uses one at a time.

Yeah I think the Avon C50 will work just fine. I need a couple CBRN filters as backups. Mostly I want to be able to filter out smoke and tear gas.
