Got a research request about a previous professor's convocation speech given in the 70s and while other requests like that have been difficult or impossible to track down, I had a feeling that this guy would have personally made sure the archives had something, because he was a history professor with a passion for preservation and was responsible for gathering or creating quite a bit of our current collection.
And yeah, I very easily found a full text of his speech with the convocation program from that year and a handwritten note from him. He did indeed send a copy of both of those things straight to the archives.
So now I can send a scan of them back to his son.
