Eminent domain requires payment.

The government cannot come in and merely seize your land under eminent domain and pay you nothing. There is a process & they have to pay you market value for your land and the buildings on it. A couple of my former clients went through this about 15 years ago when the 202 Bypass went through in Montgomery & Bucks County in Pennsylvania. Their houses and land were taken via eminent domain so that the highway could be built, but, I need to say this again: they were paid.

They were paid and there was a process in which they were informed ahead of time. They didn't just drive home one day and find out their home had been snatched, too bad, so sad, no money for you, you should have put your house in a bank vault.

Just taking someone's shit like that without compensation has a name, and it's not eminent domain or anything like it:

Anytime someone brings up an argument that states something is for the greater good, always ask yourself "for whose greater good?" Who benefits most, who gets harmed the most, what are the actual harms when you think through the logistics and future implications of the harms and not just the immediate harm, is there remuneration for the harm being caused, is it sufficient?

A lot of Thai titles lean heavily into rhyming, alliteration and wordplay, and are quite impossible to translate. As a result, productions will often just give up and use something else altogether for the English title. This can lead to some seemingly unimaginative titles that leave the viewer asking why, like "Ghost Runner", "Brothers", "My Boy", "Lovely Writer", "Bad Buddy", "Big Dragon", etc.

Another reason that leads to this is that some titles are meant to be dual-language, with the Thai and English parts meant to be read together, like "Close Friend โคตรแฟน", which is both alliterative and plays into the meaning - it's read as "Close Friend, Khot Faen", and the Thai part means "mega boyfriends". When the Thai part is dropped for the English title, the intended meaning is gone. In "Cutie Pie", the title is directly taken from that of the novel, "Cutie Pie นิ่งเฮียก็หาว่าซื่อ" (read as "Cutie Pie: Ning Hia Ko Ha Wa Sue"). The meaning is in the Thai part, which means "I'm quite and you call me naïve", while the English part is only meant to sound catchy without actually imparting meaning. When used alone, it fails.

There's usually a lot of meaning hidden in the Thai titles that gets lost in translation. I had thought of making a post explaining them, but I was too lazy, and explaining doesn't really help one truly understand unless one learns the language.

With all the speculations around the cast who could play in My Secret Boyfriends the Thai version of Secrets Relationships, I just want to say that I made my perfect cast if it was a GL version.
