I actually recall when this came to light around 2020.

It sickened me that a corporation would directly gaslight, harass, and threaten some small potatoes over-what was probably legitimate-criticism. It sets a bad precedent.

My brother and I ran a small successful (in the sense that we were selling about 10-12 items a week and retaining a 99% feedback rating) EBay account from 2012-2016. Every so often, really whacked shit would pop up concerning how they ran things. Attempts to get answers on the forum they provided were a hot mess of trolls simping and shutting down any slight concern folks had over a matter. It was impossible to think that any genuine person on their own volition would act this way and hail corporate that hard.

There were many reasons we left EBay. Though it was admirable that they favored the buyer, there were too many times we were getting burned from overseas sales. We eventually had to filter them out, then eventually Canada, Mexico, Hawaii, and Alaska. It got too stupid to even be out there as a seller.

Then this story came out, and I realized where a lot of the trolling was coming from.
