Great Horned Owlâs broad, but short wings make them surprisingly maneuverable during flight.Â

tbh the worst thing about being a self aware mentally ill person is that people assume that because you understand your illness youâre automatically able to actually apply your knowledge to your life and cure yourself
Do I know my brain isnât making the most sense right now? Yes. Can I stop it? No.Â
Me whenever I get a new special interest/hyperfixation:
I love how the search function on this site is absolute garbage. I can look up a post word for word and I will NEVER find it
Pro tip:
Wanna find a post?
Write out what you remember into a Google search.
After you write that out, end with site:tumblr.com
Google will search for your text on just tumblr
In my experience, itâs way more effective than searching through Tumblr
(you can use site:SITENAME.com to search any site btws)
This usually works but for some reason a lot of posts get indexed on google from a personâs URL based on the posts that were recently reblogged on page 1, meaning that this is only a tiny bit more reliable.
I HAVE a solution to this, you have to write down site:tumblr.com/post â â
and then write a direct quote (could be a fraction of a sentence) into the quotations, Iâve been doing this for years, and itâs so useful, it works like 99% of the timeÂ
(the more popular a post is the more likely youâll find it)
youâre a genius holy shit
Just used this to find a post Iâve been desperately searching for, thank you so much
This wouldnât be a problem on a real website
thinking out loud
âŞI donât know who needs to hear this but itâs perfectly fine to write down your thoughts and issues and then just read them out to your therapist. đśđâŹ
âŞOtherwise Iâll just forget or not say things the way I mean themâŹ

You know what bugs me about soulmate aus? So, Iâm assuming that this whole âthe first thing your soulmate says to you blahblahblahâ is a worldwide thing. So many of the aus Iâve read have a quote at some point that addresses how tragic it is when people have soul words that say something like âhiâ or ââsupâ which makes NO SENSE! In a world where the first thing you say to people is THAT important, WHY GOD WHY would the culture still use standard greetings? Who the fuck is still saying hello at this point? Everyone in these worlds would surely develop a personalized greeting different from everybody elseâs to prevent confusion. Like how no 2 racehorses can have the same racing name? The best part is that every time people met someone new for the first time, they would try to say something that no one else had said. Youâd have people meeting eachother at a job intetview, theyâd shake hands, smile politely, then one of them would be like âEvery Tuesday, I hard even grape purple farm house sunsets tooâ and this would be perfectly normal. Or youâd go up to the cash register at Starbucks and instead of saying âHello, what can i get for you today?â Sheâd look you right in the eye and say âI donât know what Space Jam isâ THEN ask you what you want and sheâd repeat that to every customer in the line for the rest of her career. And because they live in the AU, nobody would think it was weird.
op you are forcibly opening my third eye with a crowbar and i am here for it

âIn 2010, Brenda Chapman was fired as director of âBraveâ and her film was given to a man, a move that some employees perceived as proof of the studioâs deeply ingrained gender bias. This double-standard reality was later echoed in my own experience with several articulate, impressive female leads whom the Pixar whisper network vilified as âbitches.â A female lead in my department once begged her male bosses to support her with a team to complete a challenging production project. Her male superiors repeatedly ignored her requests, until the stress of the job led her into a state of psychological and physical breakdown. When she went into sabbatical to recover, her male replacement was given a team of half a dozen artists to help him complete the same task. When I received a perplexing performance review after finishing my fourth production, it felt Iâd never be equally recognized as a valuable asset by the company. The lengthy negative column listed things like, âdesigns too many options; seems like sheâs trying too hard; asks too many questions.â When I shared the document with my candid male mentor, who openly acknowledged the culture of sexism at Pixar, he said, âIf you were a man, every one of those negatives would be in the positive column.â Physically and mentally burnt out after years of bumping up against the glass ceiling, I left Pixar at age 30, hoping to find a workplace where I could genuinely thrive.â
â
Cassandra Smolcic, â How Pixarâs Open Sexism Ruined My Dream Jobâ, Variety
In honor of a recent reblog of my Isle of Dogs piece, where someone asked why canât we just enjoy the cute movie, must we infuse everything with social justice to the point of âboringnessâ.
Brenda Chapman was not just fired from Brave, she was robbed of her own masterpiece. That film was created as a tribute to her relationship with her daughter that she had poured her heart into for something like five years before her replacement by a less experienced man drove its production into a shadow of its former self. You can see where this movie suffered, and where it thrived.
Brenda Chapman and Brave have been pushed away from the legacy of Pixar in under a decade because nobody there wants to see women thrive.
