Watson rushing to Holmes side after Mrs Hudson tells him that Holmes is dying and Holmes refusing to let Watson help him, leaving Watson sick with worry sounds like the kind of angst filled shipping story you'd see in fanfiction, but no, its a canon story from Doyle himself

I finished The Adventure of the Bruce Partington Plans. The whole "important government papers have gone missing and Holmes has to find them" is another story template that Doyle is really fond of. I feel like there's been at least 4 or 5 of them. I will say this one was my favorite of them. It had a good mystery and a logical build up. Like you could for sure follow along and guess at certain things as it goes. Personally I guessed that the victim didn't actually die on the train. And it was cool to see a story that featured Mycroft so much. He doesn't actually show up that often in Sherlock Holmes stories. I think this is only the second story where he has a speaking role
