It does sort of feel that way at times, particularly when it came to Sasha and Marcy in season 3A.

Like I've made clear before: I understand what the writing was going for in trying to portray Anne suppressing her emotions about what happened with Sasha and especially Marcy in True Colors so she didn't have a complete breakdown. But to me, the show swung a bit too far into Anne's suppression, to the point where it came across as her barely caring that her two best friends could be dead.

Hoo boy, that response. Like I said in my post about Matt's answer to why Marcy was possessed for season three: it's his show, not mine, and I can at least sort of see his logic. But again I disagree with his storytelling decision here.

Like I said in my many posts picking apart what I thought didn't work about season 3, I thought it was a huge disservice to the story and characters to have Anne barely acknowledge Sasha and Marcy's existence after everything that transpired in True Colors. While I don't think we needed to bring them up every episode, I strongly feel that at the very least we should've gotten more moments like the end of Froggy Little Christmas sprinkled throughout season 3A. Have Anne react to evidence of her friends' existence like Sasha's graffiti tags in the city or hers' and Marcy's initials carved into Anne's bedpost. Little, subtle moments to show the audience that Anne still misses her friends and reinforces her desire to get back to Amphibia, rescue them and make things right between them.

Oh and by the way: "I also felt Sasha and Marcy had monopolized enough of Anne's emotions in s1 and 2 and that the Plantars and her deserved their own space"? Again, this is just my opinion, but I feel like after True Colors more than anything, Anne's emotions should have been on Sasha and Marcy now more than ever.
