“Larper” being used like “poser” is so annoying bc actual LARPers are cool as hell. Get me some armour and a fake sword too
"I would never jeopardize the beans" pales in comparison to it's newest successor, "beans r not woke. How could u do this?"
white europeans love to pretend like the united states and europe aren’t two cheeks of the same ass
Listen, nobody who's ever opened a history book says we didn't do that shit first. Pick an atrocity and chances are there was a time europeans did it on mass to someone for the sake of profit. The difference, is that we have for the most part put that behind us, while the US is just sinking deeper and deeper into it. We're not perfect, and we were a lot worse in the past. But it has been a while since we were the problem
so the racism, antiblackness, islamophobia, and hatred for immigrants just disappeared huh
"its been a while since we were the problem" someone Black was murdered by police violence in Ireland last month
I will never get over "in the past" and "it's been a while since we were the problem" (white) people.
Geezuz, bruh.
We experience racism, sexism, anti-LGTBQ+, albeism, fashism, elitism, na/zionism, war, slavery, human trafficking and more every single day even and especially in central europe.
And a gigantically huge part of the problem are the "well, I'm not the problem" people.
I know a shit ton of white people who tell themselves "this kind of stuff doesn't happen anymore" only because it doesn't happen DiRECTLY to THEM in that very moment.
It's so exhausting.
It's quite literally what we mean when we talk about privilege.
Also, the entitlement bleeding through... Ugh.
To say nothing of the fact that a lot of the US’ military adventurism is backed by European finances, and is often at their request. A while after the US destroyed the government of Libya, back under Obama, a letter from the French government got leaked requesting the US to do that. The US is just the hired thugs, Europeans hire us to do their dirty work because sending your own troops overseas makes your government unpopular. If the US really does collapse, Europeans will be back to their old tricks within weeks. (That’s a large part of why there’s all the rearmament going on right now.)
all i want for 2026 is that gigantic rancid AI bubble to finally burst in such a catastrophic way that the consequences will be so good and i'll never have to see another AI generated image ever again

imo the term "walkable" in "walkable cities" should be understood to mean "wheelchair accessible" as well, not just literally "possible to walk in". the act of walking in a city doesn't automatically make it walkable

extremely fond of and perplexed by this website
Will websites implode on themselves if they don’t move the buttons around every month or what

I'm actually losing my mind
Breathing clean air is for GIRLS
English has different words for mouse and rat but in Chinese they're both the same creature (laoshu) so I asked my mom well how do you differentiate between mice and rats. She, clearly having never felt the need to do so, was like uhh big laoshu and little laoshu I guess. Then I went online to see how the difference between (the English words) "mouse" and "rat" was being explained to CN->EN learners and there are numerous articles delving deep into the analysis. Bigger vs smaller, indoors vs outdoors, cute and favorable connotations vs evil and ugly, tail length, fear factor, emphasis on the fact that you cannot call it a "computer rat." Much thought is being expended on this little mystery of the English language
Last time I was looking for an apartment, the guy showing me a room that opened directly to the alley was like 你怕老鼠嗎?and I, hoping to distinguish mouse vs rat, asked 大的還是小的? To which he replied, with great satisfaction: 都有!😃
Translation: "Are you afraid of rodents?" "Big ones or small ones?" "We've got both."
