having anxiety is like being given permanent unwanted custody of a halter arabian. like okay buddy is it panic time again. cool you probably need more exercise and an apple and then maybe you'll calm down.
taking my stupid walks for my stupid mental health with my stupid hypervigilant brain horse
thoroughly enjoying the notes on this post because it's equal parts people with anxiety going "yeah that's what it's like" and people with arabians going "yeah that's what they're like"

Happy Pride Month to those two women dancing together in the foreground of the boat scene in Godzilla (1954).
I’m sorry your romantic foibles were overshadowed by a big ass atomic lizard thing.
anyway good morning a crucial tenet of hollanov’s relationship is that they’re equals and they’re the only people in the world who could ever be each other’s equal. they were supposed to stand alone at the top but they’re there together. shane does not view ilya as a lazy useless inconvenience. ilya does not view shane as a nagging killjoy. they are equals and they both think the other is the best thing since sliced bread and they love each other but more importantly they LIKE each other. stop making them not like each other!
like ilya spends his entire life being told (by people objectively shittier than he is) that he’s not good enough, he’s lazy, he’s undisciplined, he lets people down. and then he meets the one person who would actually be in a position to assess whether ilya is any of those things, and shane just earnestly looks into his fucking soul and says no, they were wrong. ‘you’re an awesome player to watch’ ‘i don’t know that side of you at all’ ‘this isn’t what this is. me and you’
and it’s such a fucking tragedy that people are trying to push MyIlya back into a setting where he’s constantly being lectured about his inadequacies by the very person that canonically reminds him all the time that those inadequacies were figments of his dad’s imagination
happy pride month to this iconic scene

the 3 rules of enjoying Any fandom are 1. follow everyone who you find funny 2. block everyone who you find annoying 3. when you like someone's art tell them
hi! i love your blog, and you've inspired me to try my hand at historic costuming. i'm really sorry if you've already answered this (and feel free to just delete this if you have), but is there anywhere/any store in particular you recommend getting fabric from? or just any sewing supplies in general? thank you for your time!
First of all: I am extremely happy that I could inspire you to do historic costuming! Go for it, it is SO much fun!
And don't worry, I have not made a post about this before.
One post I have made, and that you can find here is about what kind of equipment is needed for historical sewing. And as you will see, it is not a lot!
Needles, scissors, thread and chalk should be easy to get in any kind of fabric/crafts store (thead might be more tricky to find linen thread, not every store has it)
The fabric question is more tricky, because idk where you are based. I am living in Norway at the moment and personally buy most of my fabric from swedish traders that I know, and that are in the medieval scene. My favourites are:
Historiska Rum (sorry for the FB link, they are most active there) and The Historical Fabric Store (ships internationally)
Both of these shops are run by people who do reenactment and who know a lot about fabrics. Their fabrics are high quality and I can absolutely recommend them. They are also very nice people!
But in general, if you have a fabric store close to you, they should be able to have fabrics that can be used, you just have to make sure that they are not polyester blends (not something you want to wear if you are close to an open fire), but 100% wool or linen. To check (if the label is unclear, or you dont trust it) that you can usually ask the staff to help and do a burn test. This means taking a small piece of the fabric and burn it with a lighter.
Wool should smell like burnt hair and burn off, linen should smell like burnt paper and the ash should be white/grey and light. If there is polyester or any other plastic in the fibre, it will melt, and you can see it (and smell burnt plastic).
I would actually recommend to first try and go look at fabric in person, so you can see and touch it. There are different materials for different purposes and online it can be hard to figure out what is good for what, when you can't see or feel it.
I really hope this helps somewhat :)
yesterday my grandma found a penny on the floor and said to my grandpa “there’s that penny again, pa!” and i absolutely lost my mind because i couldn’t shelve the thought of a single panel Far Side comic of two old people on the front porch in the middle of nowhere and a giant penny angrily and inexplicably rolling through the wastes
“there’s that penny again, pa!”
this is hands down my single favorite post ive ever made that got notes
I sincerely hope that the OP realizes that gramma was very likely quoting that cartoon.
the cartoon that was drawn and posted based on my post? probably not, but i guess we can never know
Baby Globe, Wikipedia’s 25th birthday mascot
"Aro/Ace person gets given a love potion" story but instead of them being immune or whatever, it DOES work, and they realize IMMEDIATELY that they've been fed a love potion because this feeling is so wrong and foreign but everyone keeps laughing off the idea of it being a love potion because "they were probably just a late bloomer" or "no, you just finally found the right person!" and it's just a horror story about how no one believes them even though they know, they KNOW this isn't right and they can't stand it.

What breed are they?
Children's python! They can be a little hard to find outside Australia, but they're amazing pets.
He looks like a knight and I couldn’t help myself
They say socialism is bad because their masters told them to believe it and they do so without question. They don't actually know what half the shit they say means. And when confronted, they just make shit up and call you a leftist puppet when you prove them wrong.
Honestly though, I'd rather be a leftist puppet then a pedo supporter. But what do I know? I'm just a Canadian that know more about American politics then the average Republican.
You know what they haven’t given us in the United States? EMS as an essential service everywhere in all 50 states. Wake up everyone! When it comes to public safety, we need more than just POLICE and Fire.
