still drives me up the wall that gideon kissed harrow's forehead. like mind you she still hated harrow up until the pool scene and was mad at her for not making things clear and hiding things and keeping her in the dark. and yet her first thought after hearing all of harrow's agonies was to kiss her forehead and touch her face. like i dont even mean this in a wow so romantic way necessarily, i mean thats such an intimate way to react to someone. not just hugging her but literally kissing her forehead and pushing the hair from her temple after VOWING you hate her fucking guts. its such a raw and impulsive and genuine reaction and it makes me want to dig a grave for myself

Couple that with the fact that no one ever taught Gideon this kindness. All HER suffering was met with apathy at best and violence at worst so it would’ve made a lot of sense for her to respond to her self-proclaimed arch nemesis’ suffering the same way. But instead she CHOSE kindness. And that’s when she became doomed bc you can’t unplant the seed of companionship when you’ve been locked away from it you’re whole life :)
