I think a lot about that Fruits Basket story where the onigiri (rice ball) thinks its plain and bad with nothing special about it
but everyone else actually admires it because of the delicious plum on its back that it canāt see
anyway, Iām going on a second date with a girl soon and couldnāt help but thinkĀ āWhy would she want to keep going out with me?? Iām like, so weird and a little crazy.ā
but then I remembered that there is also a plum on my back that I canāt see and that people often like others for reasons we donāt recognize in ourselves. Be kind to yourself. Thereās always something good about someoneā however little we remember it.
This is 100% completely correct but also, plain rice balls are a thing. A lot of times they come with fillings & seasoning, but sometimes theyāre just plain old rice balls. And even then there will be someone somewhere super excited about a dang rice ball.
