i think morgan's forms of affection is unique and pretty easy to miss. but i think there are two people she genuinely loves: david, masters and fran. to a lesser degree, serra, but they haven't had enough time to form as concrete a bond.

with david her affection manifests as comfortable silence and measured distance. they're both terrible communicators without a knack for emotional intimacy, so they mesh well. they're noncommittal and morgan clearly finds comfort in the fact that she doesn't need to do too much for him.

with fran, she is comfortable enough to make innuendos and come to them for advice. there's an element of her 'using' fran but they clearly have a chemistry and she cares for them in her own way. i think the innuendo thing is massive-- imo morgan is emotionall fran's age so they get on well.

with masters' mentorship role and possibly even a surrogate mother role, i think it's clear morgan has some measure of love for her. she's comfortable enough to tank being uncomfortable with her wine aunt rambling and has likely relied solely on her for many years. transactional in nature, too. morgan's closest relationships have a transactional cover that she can use to front to herself, lol.

all of this to say... i think that what she feels for emma is love, in a twisted way. desperation mixed with love, a desire to be seen and acknowledged. i think her subconscious hatred can cool into something if emma just GIVES her that acknowledgement. tells her she's better, she's good, she's unique.
