Antares, one of the brightest red giants in our Milky Way and Rigel, a dazzling blue hypergiant in the constellation of Orion are just about 500 to 600 light years apart. Antares is older than Rigel by approximately 5 million years.
The odds of these stars "getting together" is according to the laws of physics and common sense...ZERO!
Antares and Rigel are former flames (no pun intended here!) and their love story by the time of this publication has been tragically broken because of Rigel's indiscretions with The Seven Sisters (The Pleiades)
This portrait represents the two lovers during happier times.
Of course, The Muffins, Rigel's companions have been witnesses to this extraordinary love story never told!
