Birth of Philip The Good, Duke of Burgundy: The Prince Who Built a Powerful State
On July 31, 1396, Philip III of Burgundy, better known as Philip the Good, was born in Dijon, France. A member of the Valois branch of the French royal family, Philip would become one of the most powerful rulers in 15th-century Europe, transforming Burgundy into a wealthy and influential political force.
Philip became Duke of Burgundy in 1419 after the assassination of his father, John the Fearless. During his long reign, he expanded Burgundian territories through diplomacy, warfare, and strategic marriages, gaining control over much of the Low Countries and creating a court famous for its wealth, art, and ceremony.
Although often caught between France and England during the Hundred Years’ War, Philip played a major role in European politics. He initially allied Burgundy with England but later helped negotiate peace with France through the Treaty of Arras in 1435. His court became a center of Renaissance culture, supporting artists, musicians, and explorers.
Philip the Good died in 1467, leaving behind one of the most powerful states in Europe—one that would continue to shape the politics of France, the Netherlands, and the wider continent.

♥️♥️♥️
lately.
Hii, just wanted to say that I'm almost caught up with flicker, and only now have realized you're the same person who wrote burgundy (!!!!) I loved reading that series so much, and it (along with flicker, now) is quite the inspiration and motivator for my own fanfiction and writing. I paced a lot in between reading.
I do have a question though, and that is: do you mind posted fanart of your fanfics?? Because the image of flicker Keith has been on my mind lately, and I do have some doodles already.
