Viljo the absolute unit of a saimaa ringed seal
urgent questions
GUYS I'VE FOUND NEVER BEFORE SEEN/POORLY DOCUMENTED TOKKARI SEALS FROM AN OLD 2005 BLOG POST IM FREAKING THE FUCK OUT!!! đâ¤ď¸
Some more images of gugu:
This is the most important seal in this post, this is gugu, the important thing about him is that THIS IS KAZUKIS DAD! I can see the resemblance NGL, and since he's kazukis dad that also means he's HANAJIROS HUSBAND!
This here is tsubasa, I like his tounge drool it's really funny, hes kinda chill lowkey I respect that
This is minira, she's supposed to be a baby ringed seal iirc but she looks more like a Baikal with the eyes, but that's just me 𤡠regardless she's adorable and I love her
This is non or non-chan, interestingly he appears to be a bearded seal, as of 2026 tokkari only houses harbour seals and ringed seals, and in 2024 we had the brief arrival of pukumaru the ribbon seal before his passing (RIP) so this is very interesting đ¤
This is komusubi a baby ringed seal, interestingly komusubi was a very popular seal at the time, possibly paving the way for ponsuke and yo chan, he reminds me of a mixture between mashiro and katsunori a lot - komusubi also seemed to have interest in theatre at a young age, playing a reindeer at a Christmas event only a few months prior
This is Mon or Mon-chan, not to be confused with non-chan, she's a baby ringed seal who is in an enclosure VERY SIMILAR to where daikichimaru and agu are kept, as well as what mashi was in back when the center just rescued him, the little mark on her forehead reminds me of tsuki
The seal in the back is gomahu, a female bearded seal, her personality reminds me a lot of yo chan, interestingly this blog states that she lives in the same pen as another bearded seal, so perhaps gomahu and non were roomates? Or maybe they're more bearded seals tokkari used to have that we still don't know about đ¤
Overall I recommend you guys look at this blog it's really interesting and gives you a look into tokkari center at the time, they've even got a video of komusubi on there

BONUS: some photos and videos of some of the older tokkari seals in their prime, including hanako, kite and takuma! đ

Once when I was in undergrad, someone described something as âproblematicâ in class and our professor was like, âThatâs cool, but âproblematicâ doesnât really mean anything. It means that the thing youâre describing has a problem, and in and of itself thatâs not bad. Art, especially, should always have problems, or else itâs not interesting and not art, either. It sounds like youâre trying to say that this is bad, but you donât want to say âbad.â Is that right?â
So from then on whenever one of us called something problematic, he would make us talk it out until we could name the âbadâ thing we were hinting at. In this particular class, 7/10 it was some type of oppression, and the remainder was like, âIâm uncomfortable because this is very new/confusing/pushing boundaries that made me feel safe.â
Once we stopped calling things âproblematicâ and stopping at that, class got way more interesting and... we all had to say, like, âthatâs racistâ or âthatâs misogynisticâ or âew capitalism grossâ out loud, which a lot of us had never done in a classroom before. Or we had to be like, âUhhh... Iâm not sure whatâs so bad?â and confront our own beliefs and that was maybe even more useful.
Anyway. Whenever I see the word problematic, I canât help but think of this professor being like, âGood starting point, now letâs get specific.â I think when we have to commit to saying âthatâs ___â it requires a lot more careful thought about the truth and impact and complexities of whatever weâre claiming. Sometimes there really is some bullshit afoot, and also sometimes itâs art, and it should be full of problems, because thatâs what art is.
My mom likes to tell me about how when I was a little kid riding public transport with her I'd always smile and giggle and chat with weird old ladies who smelled like cat pee and homeless folks and strangers dressed in bizarre outfits but any time a tidy and respectable businessman in a suit and tie waved at me I'd immediately clam up, and she takes a great deal of pride in my supposed inherentability to clock personalities but the truth is I do vaguely remember those bus rides, and it was never about the clothes or the hair or the smell, but more because everyone "strange" asked interesting questions and listened to what I had to say and seemed to think about what I said while the neat and tidy and rigid folks only ever acted like they were going through the motions, which was boring as hell and also pretty annoying
Well-to-do finance manager with tidy shoes: "Why hello, sweetheart. Can you say 'hi'? Aren't you cute. Are you on a trip with your mom?"
4 year old me: why must we do this
Fantastic old woman in the leopard print coat: "Why yes, my tooth IS real silver! Nobody ever asks me that. Do you like cats?"
4 year old me, suddenly paying attention: Finally, A Person Of Intellect

lil wayne or wathever
In 2026, the chicest thing a gay actor can do is never explicitly come out as gay but also make it abundantly clear that he is. Coming out is too modern. Staying closeted is too old fashioned. But this method merges contemporary freedom with Old Hollywood glamour and allure, and it weeds out the dumbest people who truly donât get it. I call it the Pascal Method.
Taylor Swift does this
no she doesnât
You clearly don't go here or to queer history and signaling, or both, enough to have this conversation and I'm not going to explain it to you. You could have asked questions, you could have done even a modicum of research. You didn't and you made yourself look ignorant. Goodbye.
