This is so funny. I’d kill all billionaires if it meant losing something precious to me

No excuse is valid to use ¨AI¨
I keep seeing people even in creative fields that don't realize they are internalizing the AI propaganda, justifying AI use in some degree, as if there's some legit amount of AI use.
Let's make something clear:
THERE IS NO ETHICAL ¨AI¨ USE (as it is now at least).
¨AI¨ is built on data theft. No mater how insignificant its use might be, there's no legit use of a technology built on THEFT.
If (and only if) one day ¨AI¨ gets properly regulated, then we can start talking about which ¨AI¨ use is ethical or not. That's not the case at the moment. That's why we need ¨AI¨ to be regulated ASAP.
By using ¨AI¨ in any capacity, one is making clear they don't respect intelectual property, or the environment. They are inherently opposite

Myth: "I only wear vegan fabrics. Better for the animals, better for the planet." Let's check in on Doris's annual contribution. Once a year, in late spring, Doris is sheared. The procedure takes approximately three minutes. Doris does not enjoy it. Doris does not, by any visible measure, suffer from it. Doris is, immediately afterwards, a noticeably more comfortable animal in the British summer. The fleece weighs approximately 3 kilograms. It is sold to the British Wool Marketing Board for, depending on the year, between £0.40 and £2.50 per kilogram. The shearing costs more than the wool fetches. Brian is shearing Doris at a loss. The wool is then: - Naturally flame-retardant - Naturally antibacterial - Moisture-wicking - Biodegradable - Renewable, annually - Carbon-storing while in use The replacement, in performance fabrics: - Polyester - Polyamide - Acrylic - Polypropylene - All petroleum-derived - All shedding microplastics on every wash - All requiring fossil fuel inputs to produce - All non-biodegradable, with a typical landfill lifespan of 200-500 years A single wash of a polyester fleece can release up to 700,000 microplastic fibres into the water system. These fibres are now in: every tested water source on earth, every tested human placenta, every tested rainfall sample, the deep ocean, the Arctic ice, and the lungs of marine mammals. A single wash of a wool jumper releases: nothing. The wool, when eventually disposed of, returns to soil within a few years. The fabric being marketed as the "ethical" alternative to wool is plastic. The plastic is "ethical" because nobody has been asked to slaughter the polymer. The polymer also has not been asked. Doris, by being a sheep on a fell, is producing the most thoroughly sustainable performance fabric humans have ever made. Brian is selling it at a loss. The fashion industry, meanwhile, is selling petroleum at a profit and calling it ethical. Reject plastic. Wear wool. Doris is, this morning, growing next year's batch.
Note: if you're allergic to wool, you might be allergic to the dyes and fine with undyed wool. Maybe not, but it's worth a try.

If THE modern translator of the OG Odyssey text wrote this about my film adaptation I’d kill myself
Emily Wilson you’re goated
She absolutely destroyed Nolan in this review O_O
"Without a tub of wax for my ears – which Himesh Patel’s ever anxious Eurylochus, Odysseus’s doomed right-hand man, uses to sail safely past the Sirens – I was exposed to the full din of thumping sticks, staffs, swords and clashing armour, thunderbolts, crashing waves, grunts, screams, toppling palaces and burning temples. But unlike Matt Damon, the wax-free Odysseus who is tied to the mast as he is conveyed past the Sirens (naked ladies reclining on some uncomfortable-looking rocks), I gazed at the shipwrecks and bloodbaths without any agony of emotion."
and
"There are more female characters than in most Nolan movies, thanks to the source material. But none of them has much to say, in contrast to the characterisations in the poem."
Well, that tracks for a Nolan film -
"The couple have no chemistry and nothing in common. Throughout his wanderings, the uxorious Odysseus clings to a little doll figure, intended to represent his wife (like the spinning top clutched by Leonardo di Caprio in Inception); the real woman is barely more interesting."
Yikes -
"If you’re not going to compose a script in Homeric Greek, or even in metrical English verse, you might as well use something like conversational American English. But writing dialogue is not one of Nolan’s talents. The language is relentlessly expository, humourless and flat."
The lines she calls out in this section will probably make a least a couple of my friends laugh incredulously -
"I was humbled to learn that Nolan has read at least the first line of my translation of The Odyssey into iambic pentameter. In at least one interview, he cited my version of the first line of the poem: ‘Tell me about a complicated man.’ But I would be ashamed to have written any part of this script."
....oh my GOD, EMILY -
"The most troubling ethical problem with Nolan’s Odyssey concerns the decision to film part of the movie in the occupied territory of Western Sahara, thus normalising the ongoing violence against the indigenous Sahrawi people. It is particularly galling that Nolan used this land simply as a visually striking backdrop for a film that centres, aggrandises and redeems the hero of a territorial war on account of his belated and partial acknowledgment of his own guilt."
And deepest respect that she didn't fail to mention the film's colonialism in production. You can tell she added the very last paragraph saying "'thanks for maybe getting people interested in classics" only because an editor begged her to say something - anything - nice about the movie.

no words can describe the volume at which i cackled. NO WORDS.
IT WAS THE FUCKING GOVERNOR OF FUCKING HAWAII BTW IM CRYING I LOST MY DAMN MIND THE BIRTH GIVERS THOUGHT I ACQUIRED WEED
i just watched thunderbolts finally and im so fucking mad. won't spoil if you haven't seen it or plan to but im having a lot of bucky feelings and they aren't favorable toward marvel which isn't a SURPRISE but everybody said thunderbolts was good and marvel was so back and like yeah it was a pretty good MOVIE but the bucky handling tHE BUCKY HANDLING AAAUUGGGGHHHHHHHH I'M GOING TO KILL. just had to rant to someone currently ill about him bc whole my friends will patiently listen to my rants none of them fully understand because they've never been this mentally ill about bucky
I have seen thunderbolts. rated 4/10 movie. would love to hear your rant though
oh thank fuck I'm not alone
alright FIRST OF ALL. congressman bucky?????????? horrible idea to start with, bugged the SHIT out of me in cap 4, doesn't follow his arc or values whatsoever, but i was really hoping it would become clear that the government was too corrupt for him to be a part of in that capacity or he would be. really bad at it. or possibly too good at it in a way he didn't like. and they did make him bad at it lmao but only to then just. become a government weapon again following orders?????? huh?????????? get the fuck out of here with that????? FREE MY BOY
and perhaps almost more egregiously, why in ALL HELL would he listen to the US government over SAM WILSON??? Sam who became captain america WITHOUT government approval because the government approved guy was a piece of SHIT?? Sam who was Steve's chosen successor?? Sam the only person from the modern era who was able to make Bucky actually smile?? Sam he went through hell and back with getting the shield back from Walker--who he's now choosing to team up with instead?? Sam the only one still around who really knew Steve as a person??? Sam who he WALKED OFF INTO THE SUNSET WITH??? Sam who INVITED HIM TO THE DAMN COOKOUT?????? that's his BEST FRIEND bro!! they are BONDED!! and they went through HELL, TOGETHER, in opposition specifically to GOVERNMENT-ORDAINED SUPERHEROES, the same thing they FOUGHT FOR BESIDE STEVE. and now Bucky is just. signing up to be a government avenger????? Valentina made an announcement and he didn't stand up and call bullshit he just. said ok???
and I think that they're trying to portray Bucky as more pragmatic than Sam, which to some extent I think he is, but not like this.
he. would HATE this. every previous portrayal of him in the MCU has him placed against authority, and now they're just throwing him in wherever is convenient!!!!
and ohhh my fuck the suit. THE SUIT. I know it's a comics reference but comics aren't the holy texts and comics Bucky has a very different relationship with the Soldier. that suit has NO BUSINESS being in the MCU. I saw the fucking red star patch on his arm and actually felt a bit sick. I have been seething about it all night. why would you put that on him why would you put that on him WHY WOULD YOU PUT THAT ON HIM
and then there's the fact that they simply didn't do anything with any of his trauma at all. come On you had the fucking mental shame room concept and you didn't show me ONE DAMN GLIMPSE OF BUCKY'S?? didn't even have him look remotely shaken afterwards??? everything he does in this movie is BORING. HOW DID YOU MAKE THIS CHARACTER BORING HE LITERALLY HANDS YOU CONTENT ON A PLATTER AS A WRITER.
i liked a lot of what they did with yelena, she's another favorite of mine, and it was cool to see ava again she was really underutilized, but ouuughhhh i am full of HATRED at how the movie messaging seemed to be about hope and trauma and people broken by the system and then REFUSED TO MAKE A REAL STATEMENT ABOUT THE CORRUPTION THAT HAS AFFECTED EVERY SINGLE ONE OF THESE CHARACTERS. WE JUST GO BACK TO THE STATUS QUO. MARVEL LOOOVES THE STATUS QUO. EVERYTHING IS DONE IN DEFENSE OF THE STATUS QUO. IM KILLING IM KILLING IM KILLING
and they involved a character that could have so much life experience related to the MAIN THEMES OF THE MOVIE and then BARELY USED HIM AT ALL
maybe it's wishful thinking on my part but i don't think sebastian stan's heart was in it either. he normally does outstanding performances even in shit pieces of media but they barely let him show an emotion in this one.
also im tired of alexei he was annoying in black widow and he's still annoying here
also just killing taskmaster in the first 15 minutes of the movie??? rude??????? feels sexist. i wanted to see them actually do something with her
bob was kinda good though. hope lewis pullman enjoys being marvel's next traumatized white boy they're undoubtedly going to butcher over the course of the next several films by not actually informing themselves about the effects of the trauma they gave him
i haven't seen falcon and the winter soldier *throws up loud and projectile style*
but making bucky a politician is genuinely the weirdest most bad idea you could every come up with and i completely forget they did that until someone reminds me
and of course they weren't going to do anything with his trauma
idk like MCU is so ass I can't even bother to care about it because if I do I'll throw up.
since infinity war and endgame *dry heaves but ive already thrown up so much there is nothing left to throw up* it has been clear that MCU just does not give a flying fuck about character arcs. they don't care about giving any character a satisfying arc or even having a story.
MCU characters are just guys in costumes to stick in a movie to make people go see the movie. for the most part they are not, in the narrative sense, characters at all.
now i must stop thinking about MCU so I can stop puking
yeah. yeah pretty much.
((IN MY OPINION)) falcon and the winter soldier was still worth the watch. it's honestly the only thing in the whole MCU that really addressed Bucky's trauma and allowed him to develop with it, even if it's flawed. and Sebastian Stan's performance is great. that being said, i think it ended stupidly and I have major gripes with some of its conclusions, especially politically. but it still had a lot of content I found valuable, and I think the relationship between Bucky and Sam was really cool and important, both of them grieving Steve together and trying to navigate a world that's hostile to both of them. and it allowed Bucky to come to a place of relative peace where he was the one deciding his own future, and he had someone he could genuinely be comfortable and safe around, which is huge for him. they let him have simple mundane good things, not only be an action hero. they let him cry. they let him actually bond with someone.
and then they just...fucking threw all of that out the window. the bullshit in tfatws was indeed some bullshit but then tHEY DIDN'T EVEN KEEP THE NON-BULLSHIT. LIKE LITERALLY WHAT EVEN WAS THE POINT OF MAKING IT IF THEY WERE JUST GONNA DISREGARD ALL OF THE DEVELOPMENT COMPLETELY.
but thunderbolts finally did it for me im never watching an mcu movie again not even spiderman can save this shit
spiderman: far from home was one of the worst movies id ever seen in my life and people still are like "but the third and fourth ones are really good!" nope. don't care.
