almost 29°C in my house and another three hours of sunshine :(
Welcome to the let my blorbo go tournament!
inspired by @free-my-girl-tourney, this is a tournament where we set our favourite victims of fandom antisemitism against each other and also complain as a group. because that's fun!
the rules:
no real people. i know real people are victims of fandom antisemitism but placing the actual impact it has on them on the same level as fictional characters is quite inappropriate imo
characters should be canonically Jewish. if they are Jewish-coded i will allow it but please use your discretion
other factors (ex: racism, misogyny, homophobia) are all good to bring up if relevant. the way a character is treated is often multifaceted and i encourage you to mention that!
keep it civil in the notes. varying opinions are allowed of course but personally attacking other users, irrelevant i/p debate, or like. being horrible to me (im literally just the messenger). will get your comment deleted and you blocked
have fun!
here is the form to submit characters!

ORLANDO (1992) dir. Sally Potter In 1600, nobleman Orlando inherits his parents' house, thanks to Queen Elizabeth I, who commands the young man to never change. After a disastrous affair with Russian princess Sasha, Orlando looks for solace in the arts before being appointed ambassador to Constantinople in 1700, where war is raging. One morning, Orlando is shocked to wake up as a woman and returns home, struggling as a female to retain her property as the centuries roll by. Loosely based on Virginia Woolf's 1928 novel Orlando: A Biography. (link in title)
"historically people had servants" incorrect. historically people WERE servants, and many of us still are.
I feel like people try to explain how [historical figure] had all the time to do so many Great Accomplishments and thus go "it's because they had servants". Which is true. But then leave it at that rather than continue on to the more important point that the servants actually often were as tired and overworked and unable to have time for themselves as so many of us are. "People lived this way because they had servants" okay and how were the SERVANTS living???
A Worker Reads History
Bertolt Brecht
Who built the seven gates of Thebes? The books are filled with names of kings. Was it the kings who hauled the craggy blocks of stone? And Babylon, so many times destroyed. Who built the city up each time? In which of Lima's houses, That city glittering with gold, lived those who built it? In the evening when the Chinese wall was finished Where did the masons go? Imperial Rome Is full of arcs of triumph. Who reared them up? Over whom Did the Caesars triumph? Byzantium lives in song. Were all her dwellings palaces? And even in Atlantis of the legend The night the seas rushed in, The drowning men still bellowed for their slaves.
Young Alexander conquered India. He alone? Caesar beat the Gauls. Was there not even a cook in his army? Phillip of Spain wept as his fleet was sunk and destroyed. Were there no other tears? Frederick the Great triumphed in the Seven Years War. Who triumphed with him?
Each page a victory At whose expense the victory ball? Every ten years a great man, Who paid the piper?
So many particulars. So many questions.
