the first hint that this likely has a bias is the fact that their examples of 'banning trans movements and institutions' are places that were targeted and known for homosexuality primarily. the institute for sexual science did cover gender identity, yes, but do you think there's perhaps a reason why the vast majority of those who believed they 'have the soul of the opposite sex' were persecuted homosexuals who were gender non conforming, even in relatively tolerant places like weimar germany? not to mention that 'sexed souls' or 'being born in the wrong body' are blatantly religious concepts with zero basis.
secondly, it also admits that heterosexual trans people were often not persecuted the same, showing that the primary factor is again, homosexuality.
thirdly, paragraph 175 is the ban of male on male sex and paragraph 183 was a vague public indecency law, which the nazis used to, guess what again, persecute GAY MEN!

this was liddy bacroff, who was also a prostituted gay man who was arrested multiple times for sexual acts with men before being sent to a concentration camp. once again HOMOSEXUAL. though him being in women's clothes was definitely part of it (radfems believe that no matter what you believe yourself to be, you are marginalised for being gender non conforming, not for any identity), but primarily it was that he kept having sex with men.
to state that 'the nazi state reserved the worst violence for trans women' is so disgusting and appropriating. gay men got castrated. pregnant women had their fetuses cut out or their babies experimented on. twins. JEWS. a lot of the time, 'trans women' didn't even get sent to concentration camps, they were put in jail for a few months to a couple years, then told to not wear clothes of the opposite sex again. which really sucks, like that is legitimately bad, but that is not comparable to the utter torture that other groups went through on a mass scale (and not just cherry picked handful of cases). i hate that i even have to compared hurt groups, but when this particular group keeps claiming that not only are they (not even past nazi germany they, but they NOW) on par with active genocided groups, but the WORST treated of any of them, it dumbfounds me.
this person is a terrible historian in that they keep projecting modern politics and views onto a different time. transvestitism (the word used then, not transgender) back then covered transvestites, drag performers, gender non conforming people, and fetishists. the vast majority were gay, and were persecuted and sent to camps for being gay. and when the only source getting quotes on wikipedia is a single person, that is a massive red flag for potential biases in terms of how the information is presented (especially from a 'he/him she/her they/them'. i'm not just saying pronouns, he claims ALL of them. he has also said 'everyone feels same sex love at some point' and compared the US right now to what happened in nazi germany regarding trans identity. which wtf. complete post modernist, identity politics lamb).
transvestites and crossdressers were certainly targeted during the holocaust. no one is arguing that none were. but they were a fraction of a fraction of those persecuted, were almost exclusively targeted for concentration camps for being homosexual, jewish, or vocally anti nazi, and most of all, going back to the original claim against jk rowling, what was being claimed was that trans people were the first/primary targets of nazis, and that they were a significant part of book burnings. it's complete riding on the coattails of those oppressed for being gay. which is what they've been doing for years. because straight white men with 'euphoria boners' when they put on women's underwear want to pretend that they're the ultimate oppressed, no matter how many movements and tragedies they gleefully coopt.
