Body and Spirit, Faith and Works.

In the story of creation, God formed the body of man, but the body didn’t come alive until God breathed into man. James 2:26 explains that works is to faith what the spirit is to the body. A lively believer can be seen when their works align with their faith.

Keep Doing Good.

Those who sow into the Spirit will reap eternal life. Sowing into the Spirit is good work expected from believers. Praying, studying the word, supporting your family of believers, supporting those in need; all of these matter to God. God sees your good works. Let your good works complement your faith.

According To Your Works.

Believing in Jesus gives eternal, and the work you’ve done as a believer also gives eternal life. This Bible verse tells us that God will reward those who have been patient in well-doing with eternal life.

Saved By Faith For Good Works.

Our salvation is not by our works but it is for good works. This verse explains that by believing in Jesus Christ unto salvation, we give the glory to God and not to ourselves; and we are God’s workforce. Your works should complement your faith.

The Saving Kind of Faith.

When your works—actions or deeds, do not complement your faith, it becomes questionable. If your faith is questionable, this verse is asking “what good is it?”, “can it save you?”

Soul Exchange

Whatever is the object for which men forsake Christ, that is the price at which Satan buys their souls. Yet one soul is worth more than all the world. This is Christ’s judgment upon the matter; he knew the price of souls, for he redeemed them; nor would he underrate the world, for he made it. The dying transgressor cannot purchase one hour’s respite to seek mercy for his perishing soul. Let us then learn rightly to value our souls, and Christ as the only Savior of them.—Matthew Henry

The Work.

Jesus Christ says the work of God is to believe in Jesus Christ—Him whom God sent. One ministration from this Bible verse, is that believing in Jesus Christ requires effort. There are circumstances, principalities, and powers, here and there, ready to pull you away from believing in Jesus Christ, but we must do the work of believing in Jesus Christ.

Jesus Christ —The Life.

In John 14:6, Jesus Christ says of Himself, “I am The Life”. In John 10:10, Jesus Christ says the purpose for His presence on earth is to give you life abundantly. The life that Jesus Christ gives transcends life on earth, it overflows into eternity. When you receive Jesus Christ, you receive life abundantly.

Jesus Christ—The Mediator.

By believing in Jesus Christ, you receive the right to become a Child of God. Jesus Christ is the mediator between God and man, as sin separated man from God, faith in Jesus repairs the relationship.

Jesus Christ—Light of the World.

Jesus Christ says He comes as a light to the world, so that whoever believes in Him also believes in God. Jesus Christ is the only way to God.

Jesus Christ—The Door.

There is one entrance to salvation, Jesus Christ is that entrance. Jesus says that there are green pastures waiting for you on the other side of the door.

Jesus Christ—Seeks and Saves The Lost.

In Luke chapter 19, Zacchaeus—the chief tax collector wanted to see Jesus Christ. His curiosity made him climb a tree so that he could see above the crowd and look upon Jesus Christ. Amongst all those people who gathered around Jesus Christ that day, Zacchaeus was called out and Jesus Christ chose to fellowship with him at his place.

It seems that Zacchaeus had an idea of who Jesus Christ is but wanted to know more. So when Jesus Christ called him out, his first reaction was to state his perceived good works. As a chief tax collector who was rich, his good work was to give half of his possessions to the poor.

So many of us are like Zacchaeus. We heard about Jesus Christ, and perhaps we want to know more, but the ‘metaphorical crowd’ is preventing you from getting closer to Jesus Christ.

Perhaps you perceive yourself as good, because of some type of good work you’ve done. We are not saved by works, but by faith in Jesus Christ.

This Bible passage reminds us that Jesus Christ wants to fellowship with you. He came to seek and to save the lost (that’s us).

Jesus Christ—Saviour of The World.

When you hear of Christianity or Jesus Christ, you should think of SALVATION. Unfortunately, through the wiles of the wicked one, many people think of CONDEMNATION instead.

This verse reminds us that the ultimate purpose of God sending Jesus Christ is so that you will not be condemned, but be saved through Jesus Christ.

Jesus Christ—The Only Way To God.

The Christian faith is that the only way to God is through Jesus Christ. He declared it Himself.

It is wrong to proclaim Christianity or faith in Jesus Christ and yet believe in other ways to God.

Jesus Christ is not one of many gods.

The Power To Witness.

One of the manifestations of the Holy Spirit is the empowerment for you to be a witness for Jesus Christ everywhere.

The Mandate To Preach.

As believers, we have been given a mandate to preach the gospel to all, and testify of God’s sovereignty and salvation through Jesus Christ. Be encouraged to preach the gospel.

The Task of Reconciling People To God.

This Bible verse reminds all followers of Jesus Christ that God has already given us the task of reconciling people to God. You don’t need to ponder too long about this, but you need to pray for God’s presence to be with you as you go to fulfil this task.
