ok then why didnt you
In honor of this post getting way too many notes i made this
Shes dedicated to all the people who missed the point
some people really aren't getting it so i need to clear something up, let me hold your hand through this
^^^THE SAME COMIC. THESE ARE ALL THE SAME.
I have several times responded to "Anyone could do that, I could do that!" with "I agree, and I think it would be fun to try! Do you want to try with me?" or "I actually know how to do that and would absolutely unironically love to help you have a go!"
I wish someone would take me up on it.
This Dan Piraro comic always makes me cry.
When I lived in London there was a murder of crows that lived near me. I fed them often, they brought me presents (shiny rubbish and cigarette butts they found on the floor to thank me.)
When I moved, I’m certain they understood I was leaving because I had all my stuff and gave them lots of food and compliments.
But, they chased down my friend who lived in the next burrough over. They had recognised that friend with me several times and followed them to their house when they couldn’t find me.
They adopted my friend and it was now my friend’s job to bring them snacks and receive the presents.
This was maybe 6-7 years ago.
I visited London last year. Went to see my friend. The crows all not only recognised me, they tracked me down. We got into my friend’s flat and not twenty minutes later there was chaos on the balcony.
We open the curtains, the entire fucking murder is there shouting because they wanted to see me.
Crows are the very best birds.
I want to befriend my local crows so bad. :(

dehumanization as horror is great and all but what about humanization as horror. Being forced into a role that was not made for you. Being forced to fulfill expectations that you can never achieve. Being made to exist in a society that so cruelly expects you to act in a way that is against your nature.

WE WERE ON JEOPARDY!!!!!!!!!!
thank you for coming to my this #mythis
"okay ❤️ yay ❤️" remains an unmatched response
my understanding and interpretation of Mary Oliver’s “Wild Geese” cannot be untangled from the fact that it was originally published to follow her poem about childhood sexual abuse, “Rage”
i just don’t think it was unintentional that these were presented flush against each other

I like the idea in fantasy that humans are better at maintaining things long term because they set up societies or professions to do it whereas dwarves and elves and stuff are like “just get bob to do it he’s got a good few hundred years left” and then bob doesn’t teach anyone else how to do it
Elf: How have you kept this castle maintained for a thousand years if your lives are so short?
Human: We just train new people how to do it?
Elf: *gears visibly turning in their head*
Human: Are you alright?
Elf: I just realized that we didn’t have to let that whole city fall to ruin just because my grandfather died.
Human: What?
Human: Wait that’s why there’s ruins of elven cities even though you live for so long? You just keep not asking people how to do things? How do you learn anything?
Elf: There’s a lot of “you’ve got time to figure it out on your own” attitudes floating around in our society that I’m starting to question somewhat.
Elf: That sword, where did you get it?
Human: My cousin made it.
Elf: Impossible! Those metalworking techniques were lost a hundred years ago!
Human: What do you mean lost? My great-grandmother learned to make these swords from an elven smith, then taught it to her kids.
Elf: That's ridiculous. No elf would give such secrets to a human.
Human: They didn't. Meemaw delivered the metal to the forge, and no one kicked her out when she stayed and watched. She always said they barely acknowledged her even when doing business with her, like she wasn't worth noticing.
Elf: Come to think of it, my great-uncle always was rather single-minded when he started working.
Human: So he wasn't ignoring her, he just forgot she was there?
Elf: Oh, he was definitely ignoring her, too. He was super racist.
Trigun but Ultrakill Act 1 album cover. I just thought it might be cool :3.
i have a random issue with a handful of pre-srar fall out boy songs where I LOVE the the start of the song or just generally everything but the chorus, but the chorus itself i find kind of underwhelming (eg: ilalwtwiattgyo, ttotbo, igatrimeanomf, cfmrfrpfmsr, gblogbd(dyptstsasgts)
poor thing...walked straight into the electric fence
I think Ted Lasso and Trent Crimm, Independent, should kiss
Are they like..... Yknow.... [Goes to do a hand gesture but forgets I'm a wizard and I accidentally cast Lv50 lightning bolt]

Last year, I befriended a Catholic seminarian. We've gotten to be pretty decent friends. Seeing as he was staying in town for the summer and I wasn't, I entrusted him with caring for my plant.
He did a wonderful job, but as he was returning my plant to my custody, he explained "I watered her every other day, I gave her new dirt, moved her into the sunshine, prayed the rosary-"
"What?"
He looked at me, confused. "Isn't she a plant you pray with?"
"No," I said slowly. "She's a prayer plant. That's the... colloquial name of the plant."
Upon seeing his stricken face, I realized something went wrong. Turns out, this entire time, he's been including my plant in on his prayers and leaving her near icons.
Listen, totally cool. My plant becoming Catholic is a great deal for her not dying over the summer. But now I must navigate this interfaith household. Keep me in your thoughts.
#i love prayer plants but they're fussy so I don't keep them#can we have a picture op they're so pretty
Behold, Dorothea
(Naming my plant "Gift of God," and then giving her to a seminarian with just the explanation that it's a prayer plant? Okay, that's my bad.)
I should also add- I ran into my rabbi and explained the situation. I then asked, earnestly, if there was a remedy. A mikveh of sorts, or a beit din, or something.
He turned to me, sighed, and said in a very deadpan tone-- "Plants don't have covenants, Joy,"
So Theodora's a free agent according to rabbinic opinion. I guess I'll permit her to be Roman Catholic.
I really love Doflamingo’s nickname. Unfortunately, it’s a bit lost in translation, because in English, it’s Heavenly Demon.
But in Japanese, it’s Tenyasha - the same first character as in Tenryuubito, Celestial Dragon.
They literally call him a Celestial, but not one of the Dragons anymore. I wonder who came up with that nickname. And if it was the World Government or the Marines, it shows just what exactly they think about him.
I love original use of "Yaksha" which is spirit or demigod (not human nor god, which is important cause Doffy is kind of outside of this groups cause they and he reject it) that usually benevolent, but capricious like all spirits.
Demon has strictly negative meaning and loses the mystery.
Heavenly Spirit sounds cool, but its mostly "force of good" association.
Personally i think his Epithet comes from his fighting style, he really dominates air "heaven" and duality of protectiveness of family (benevolence) and yk being horrible to outsiders (malevolence).
Doffy is very Fae coded.
Rules magical country where breaking a rule makes you his servant forever, while everybody forgets you existed.
Got country by making a deal with previous king, where conditions technically doable, but he knew king doesn't have resources to complete it.
He surprisingly rule abiding, rules just his own. Like with Bellamy, he did lend him Jolly Roger even if he didn't like Bellamy and only contacted him again after Bellamy failed his part of contract.
Kept up his deal with Viola despite not getting much out it(he couldve just killed her near assortment of fruits to get her DF and give loyal person)
Whole "strange" fashion sense and having court of wicked weirdos is veeery Fae coded.
Also youre his even if you leave, with Law and Rosinante
