Geometry homework, Lin Yung Cheng
You should automatically get time off work until the light returns to your eyes and you feel like a real person again
Well put. (Source: Writing About Writing Facebook page)
as a lawyer whoâs been practicing for six years now I can say with certainty that this 100% applies to lawyers
Me: My writing is so bad. :(

I will always reblog this!
You should be able to rot in bed for 2, maybe 3 hours after waking up before it starts affecting what time it is. If I wake up at 8:30 and lie in bed for 2hr it should still be 8:30 when I get up

oh my GOD
I'm gonna say something incredibly 30-year-old and I'm going to ask you to not judge me while I'm trying to be genuine and real. Okay? Here's my truth.
A piece of lettuce can really elevate a sandwich. The fresh crunch? Unrivaled. Peak. Poetic cinema.
The court jester has arrived
Tell us a joke little guy!
Me and my cousin have an ongoing bit where we pretend we made "slightly better" versions of things where we'll be like.
"That was a pretty good movie, but not as good as my movie, House of 1001 Corpses," or "I guess this song is okay. Kind of reminds me of a song I'm working on called 'Faster Car'."
Never once has it been funny or made anyone but us laugh.
This reminds me of a joke I have with two of my cousins
since this âlatinx or latineâ discussion is getting attention again, iâd like to point out that itâs important to know how disabled people feel about it, and why you should consider using âeâ instead of âxâ for making gendered words neutral.
basically, a blind brazilian and anti-ableism blogger first spoke about this issue in january 2015, claiming that words such as âlatinxâ and âbonitxâ are actually anything but inclusive, since visually impaired people canât understand what youâre saying, because their reading-out-loud softwares canât pronounce these words. she then suggests that using âeâ as a neutral term can be way more inclusive both to nonbinary and visually impaired people (ex.: latine, bonite). she also states that you can be neutral without using âelaâ or âeleâ by using instead âa pessoa/that personâ or simply using the personâs name.
she stills talks about this issue on her page to this day, as well as many of other anti-ableism activists on facebook, and they ask us to spread the word by sharing their posts - so as a non-disabled person, thatâs what iâm doing. i hope this helps!

I just want to add, before anyone asks, that for spanish/portuguese speakers the âxâ is really hard to use because %99 of the time it doesnât come out natural at all. We literally donât know how to say it, like the softwares. If we use it, it usually interrumps our speech all the time because we have to think how we say it. The âxâ/the sound that it makes is not usual in our languages. The âeâ not only helps disabled people but also it helps us because its easier and more natural in our tongues.Â
On top of the aforementioned reasons to shift from latinx to latine for gender neutrality, doing so will not be difficult in oral speech even for native English speakers (instead of saying /ËlĂŠtÉȘnÉks/Â = Lah-teen-ex you say /ËlĂŠtÉȘnÉ/ = Lah-teen-eh).
If weâre thriving for inclusive language, we should thrive for an inclusive language that effectively includes everyone. The use of Latine (and -e suffixes for gender neutrality in Portuguese and Spanish), unlike that of Latinx (and -x suffixes for gender neutrality in Portuguese and Spanish), does not have ableist consequences, and does not exclude visually impaired people.
Like @curles said, spread the word!

i opened the window to hear the sound of rufus wainwrightâs cover of âhallelujahâ and it put me in such a existential Mood that i was contemplating about my relationship with God. and then bam came smashmouthâs all star. i realized this dude was just playing the shrek soundtrack for fun which caused me to have a spiritual moment for three whole minutes.
ACCORDING TO MY ROOMATEâŠ. SOMEONE WAS THROWING A SHREK THEMED PARTY. EVERYONE WAS DRESSED AS SHREK.

itâs necessary to fight back against adult content bans obviously because it leads to queer bans, but also, you cannot forget that we must fight back against these bans because adults have the right to make and enjoy adult content. no credit card company has the right to censor what we look at. yes, this includes the âproblematic kinksâ and stuff you think is gross and bad. just as we deserve to be openly queer online, we deserve to enjoy adult content without fear of total censorship, and itâs absurd how few places there are to do that online nowadays
People love to say things like âHiding Anne Frank was illegal, turning her in would have been legalâ without like fully grasping the modern implications properly. You have tons of folks like âif WW2 happened today id have __â that do not realize what is happening around them.
We have this idolized AND sanitized version of what happened then, and so we do not recognize it when it happens now.
Resistance fighters assassinated nazis and blew up weapons and infrastructure and destroyed records and forged paperwork and raised secret funds and smuggled people in vehicles and yes, hid them in their homes.
âWell itâs sad he got sent to an ICE camp but he faked his permit :/â
Whoever helped him fake his paperwork did what fighters in ww2 did. People who cut through chain link fences do what fighters in ww2 did, people who blow whistles chasing after ice cars do what fighters in ww2 did, people who destroy arms factories and cop city cranes do what fighters in ww2 did, people unmask agents do what fighters in ww2 did.
People are doing it now! Theyâve been doing it now! You keep saying âoh if this happened here__â it HAS! It IS!
What are you doing about it?
who's ready for ww3
