When she is given a mission that might be her undoing, Samirah must change everything about herself - her personality, her body, even her face. All she can keep is her name and her brother, ever loyal in his place at her side. The mission: three people, three objects, three rituals. The location: the Bellowdark, a mysterious world on a parallel plane, all too close to her own. Only upon completion can she return to her home and to her new life; only upon completion will she be inducted as a newly minted member of the Citrinitas Accord - a group that includes the uncle that raised her and once, her parents. With the Accord being the only ones who may know what actually happened to her parents all those years ago, she is desperate to succeed. Unfortunately it seems there is someone who is just as determined to make sure that she fails - someone who stalks her in the Bellowdark, someone who meddles, who undoes her hard work; someone who wears her face. And with that face comes its own set of problems. Now she must navigate the Bellowdark with Heralds of the Darkest on her tail, manage new relationships forming with her shaky sense of identity, and contest rumors about the Accord that could threaten her faith. And if the Accord is not as steadfast as she thought they were, what does that mean for her parents? Moreover, who else can she trust?
